Red Journey: 18,000 voluntary blood donors over 8 editions

Over the past 8 editions, the ‘Red Journey - Red Drops of Hue’ program has demonstrated the powerful reach of the Ancient Capital’s tradition of compassion, mobilizing more than 18,000 voluntary blood donors, making an important contribution to emergency care and medical treatment, especially during the peak summer period.

This year, the program aims to spread awareness to more than 2,000 people, and collect a minimum of 1,500 units of safe blood. In addition, this 9th journey will also promote and encourage the noble act of registering to donate tissues, organs, and other human body parts, opening up a chance at a new life for many patients suffering from serious illnesses.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Manh acknowledged and commended the efforts of all levels, departments, sectors, volunteers, and sponsors who have consistently accompanied and helped sustain and expand the city’s voluntary blood donation movement in recent times. He also called for a pioneering spirit in humanitarian activities so that every citizen may see voluntary blood donation as a beautiful act that nurtures compassion and a spirit of sharing.
