On February 7th, 1966, Gia Hoi Secondary School was established to meet the learning needs of students in suburban areas. By the 2001-2002 academic year, the school officially adopted the name Gia Hoi High School. Born and nurtured on a land rich in patriotic, revolutionary, and studious traditions, Gia Hoi High School has become a cultural cradle of the locality, a place that nurtures knowledge, fosters dreams, and empowers generations of students to step confidently into the future. Over 60 years of construction and development, generations of administrators, teachers, staff, and students have continuously strived to overcome difficulties, gradually affirming the school’s position as a reputable educational institution.

After 60 years, Gia Hoi High School has undergone strong transformations across many areas. The scale of classes, the number of students, and the teaching staff have steadily grown. Simultaneous investments in facilities have clearly changed the school's overall appearance.

Currently, Phase 1 of the new construction project has been completed, featuring two four-storey buildings comprising 16 classrooms, four fully enclosed teachers’ offices, a standard-qualified library, and 11 practical laboratories. The schoolyard space, pathways, flower beds, and green trees have been scientifically and harmoniously planned.

During the 2026–2028 period, the school will continue to receive investment from the City People’s Committee to construct a new administrative building, a four-storey academic and functional complex, a multi-purpose sports hall, playgrounds and training grounds, while also being equipped with synchronized facilities and modern teaching equipment.

Alongside infrastructure investment, the school’s team of administrators, teachers, and staff has continuously been strengthened and developed. Currently, the school has 100 administrators, teachers, staff, and workers; over 60% of teachers are core personnel of the education sector, with solid professional expertise and strong dedication. One hundred percent of administrators, teachers, and staff meet or exceed professional standards, including one doctorate holder and 24 master’s degree holders.

Over the past five academic years, students of Gia Hoi High School have won 163 prizes in provincial Grade 12 excellent student competitions, including three prizes in specialized categories; eight prizes in provincial science and technology competitions, along with numerous awards in other academic, cultural, and sports arenas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements Gia Hoi High School has attained over the past 60 years, and expressed his hope that the school would continue to play an important role in training local human resources. Emphasizing that the coming period presents many new demands as policies and resolutions on educational reform are being implemented, the Standing Vice Chairman urged the school to uphold its traditions, strengthen unity, and gradually improve facilities. In addition, the school should innovate management thinking and teaching methods, enhance the quality of the teaching staff to meet the requirements of integration and development, and continue to confirm its position as one of the city’s reputable educational institutions.

In recognition of the school’s contributions to the cause of education over the past 60 years, on this occasion, the City People’s Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to Gia Hoi High School.
