According to the DOET, these schools are located in areas deeply affected by flooding but successfully protected property and mitigated flood damage. Thanks to this, although the flood caused major impacts, the level of loss at these schools was minimal. Department leaders emphasized that these are exemplary models in disaster prevention, response, and recovery for the entire sector to learn from and replicate.

During the period of complicated rain and flooding, the schools mentioned above proactively implemented multiple response measures following the “Four-on-the-spot” principle, maintained 24/24-hour on-duty shifts, and promptly relocated assets, teaching equipment, documents, library books, and furniture to safe locations. Thanks to careful preparation and close coordination with local authorities and rescue forces, those schools had minimized damage and ensured the safety of their facilities.

Immediately after the water receded, the schools mobilized teachers and staff to clean classrooms following the “where the water goes down, so must the mud” motto, quickly restoring the educational environment and fully preparing conditions for teaching activities to resume.
