Taking place over two days, February 7 - 8 (the 20th and 21st days of At Ty lunar December), the program “Kim Long Tet - Where Tradition Shines” features a wide range of activities rich in Hue cultural identity. Traditional Tet space is vividly recreated with hands-on community cultural experiences, fostering a joyful and warm pre-New Year atmosphere while strengthening bonds among local neighborhoods.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Thin, Vice Chairman of Kim Long Ward People’s Committee, said that Kim Long is a locality with a long-standing historical and cultural heritage, preserving many valuable traditional values. The program aims to create a healthy spring celebration space rich in national identity while promoting the local image to visitors.

A range of highlights, including traditional candied fruit-making contests, Chung cake and Tet cake making contest, and cooking competitions under the theme “Flavors of Tet” are organized, attracting 17 teams from 38 residential groups. The program also includes exhibitions of Kim Long specialties, traditional handicrafts, craft experience areas, Hue cuisine spaces, and displays of ornamental plants and bonsai. A festive and traditional Tet atmosphere is vividly recreated through folk games and the art program “Spring Colors of the Homeland”…

On the same evening, at the Bao Vinh Old Quarter, Hoa Chau Ward People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of the program titled “Tet in Hoa Chau” Festival 2026, kicking off a series of cultural and community activities taking place from February 7 to 15, 2026 (the 20th to 28th days of Ay Ty lunar December).

The festival features a wide range of activities closely tied to traditional Tet life, including a recreated old-time Tet space, the “Bringing Tet Home” contest, demonstrations of traditional crafts, folk games, Hue cuisine, and community art performances, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere in the days leading up to Tet.

Alongside cultural activities, the festival also features the “Compassionate Tet in Hoa Chau” program, Chung cake making contest, ginger jam and thuan cake making contest, as well as gift-giving ceremony to poor and near-poor households in the ward, spreading the spirit of sharing and strengthening community bonds during the traditional Tet holiday.

Throughout the festival, traditional craft demonstrations are held at the Ruong (wooden-pillared) houses along the Bao Vinh Old Quarter, featuring activities such as making Kitchen Gods figurines, woodblock printing, calligraphy writing, Xam huong, bamboo and rattan weaving, to-he figurine making…, allowing residents and visitors to directly experience the handcrafted labor associated with traditional Tet life.

According to Mr. Phan Trong Nghia, Chairman of Hoa Chau Ward People’s Committee, the festival is expected to contribute to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values associated with Bao Vinh Ancient Town, while gradually shaping a community-based cultural and tourism space that creates livelihoods for local residents and fosters sustainable local economic development.

“Tet in Hoa Chau” Festival 2026 is not only a celebration for local residents but also an opportunity for visitors to more vividly experience the atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year, the region’s cultural beauty, and the warm sense of community in Hoa Chau.

Earlier, the Party Committee’s Commission for Party Building, together with the People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Cuu Ward, jointly organized the program “An Cuu - Fragrance and Colors of Tet”, attracting the participation of a large number of locals, officials, and students.

Under the theme “Connected Spring - Loving Tet”, the program took place over two days, February 7 - 8 (the 20th - 21st days of the lunar December), offering a culturally rich space that vividly recreated traditional Tet customs and the distinctive cultural beauty of the people of Hue.

The highlights of the program include competitions in making Chung cakes and Tet cakes, as well as ginger jam, coconut jam, and thuan cakes, with the participation of 14 teams from 10 emulation clusters representing 38 residential groups, local schools, and agencies across the ward. In addition, a Hue culinary space is set up to showcase a wide range of traditional dishes commonly enjoyed during Tet.

Alongside the competitions, the program also features performance and exhibition spaces showcasing local Tet specialties, and a folk games area. Furthermore, there are interactive experience zones with activities such as calligraphy writing, making New Year greeting cards, lanterns, and fruit-shaped cakes, and the displays of traditional New Year’s Eve offerings. The festive atmosphere is further enlivened by art performances and youthful dance routines during the “Spring Colors Night Festival”.

Beyond its cultural significance, the program “An Cuu - Fragrance and Colors of Tet” also spread a spirit of compassion and reverence for cultural roots. Various specialties, including Chung cakes, Tet cakes, jams, and traditional Hue cakes prepared during the program, will be offered at local historical, cultural, and revolutionary sites. Moreover, these products will be presented as gifts to poor and near-poor households, as well as disadvantaged children at social welfare centers.

Also on this morning, Kim Tra Ward officially opened the program “Welcoming Binh Ngo Spring 2026”. The event was held to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.

Taking place over two days, February 7 - 8, the “Welcoming Binh Ngo Spring 2026” program features a wide range of rich and diverse activities, harmoniously combining traditional cultural elements, community recreation, and care for the underprivileged.

During the natural disasters at the end of 2025, hundreds of households in Kim Tra Ward suffered severe losses of property and production equipment. In an effort to encourage residents and help them stabilize their lives, through Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented 50 relief packages, each worth VND 3 million, to support affected households in purchasing tools, equipment, and essential household items.

In addition to the 50 gift packages mentioned above, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City also presented 50 Tet gift packages, each valued at VND 1 million, to poor households in the ward….

According to Mr. Chau Viet Thanh, Secretary of Kim Tra Ward Party’s Committee, “Welcoming Binh Ngo Spring 2026” is a meaningful community cultural activity that preserves traditional cultural values, fosters the spirit of mutual support and solidarity, builds a vibrant cultural life within residential areas, and strengthens the great national unity bloc.
