The program featured a variety of activities such as spring-themed cultural performances, displays of local products and “zero-cost” stalls, competitions on wrapping A quat cakes and traditional cuisine under the theme “Connecting Love”, as well as folk games… These activities recreated the warm and vibrant atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year, rich in ethnic cultural identity, taking place with joyful involvement of the local residents.

Within the framework of the program, the organizing committee carried out a wide range of meaningful activities, including the establishment of delegations to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiary families and respected community figures. In particular, a delegation led by Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung paid New Year visits to Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Vai and several policy beneficiary families in A Luoi 2, A Luoi 3, and A Luoi 4 communes. Furthermore, they also visited Border Marker No. 666 and paid working visits to A Dot Border Gate Border Guard Station, presenting gifts to 5 communes and 4 border guard stations.

In addition, medical teams provided free health check-ups, consultations, and medicines for 200 residents from policy beneficiary households and disadvantaged families. They also handed over the “Great Solidarity” houses and awarded 10 scholarships to students under the “Supporting Students to School” program; 1,100 Tet gift packages were also presented to residents in border areas. The total value of the program was nearly VND 1 billion.

The “Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of Border Communities” program carries profound political, social, and humanitarian significance, reflecting the care and responsibility of border guard officers and soldiers toward ethnic minority communities in border areas - people who days and nights steadfastly work alongside border guard forces to firmly protect national sovereignty and border security.

In recent years, in line with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on promoting socio-economic development in tandem with strengthening national defense and security in border areas, the City Border Guard Command has proactively worked in close coordination with local Party committees and authorities, departments and agencies, Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the business community, and benefactors to effectively implement a wide range of practical social welfare programs and initiatives. These include “Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of Border Communities”, “Warm Homes for the Poor in Border Areas”, “Supporting Students to Stay in School”, and “Accompanying Women in Border Areas”, as well as livelihood support, free medical check-ups and medicine distribution, and the construction of essential community infrastructure. Through these efforts, hundreds of households have been supported in stabilizing their livelihoods, gradually improving economic conditions, and achieving sustainable poverty reduction.

This shared and responsible engagement by agencies, businesses, organizations, and individuals not only provides support for Tet for disadvantaged people in border areas but also lays an important foundation for the development of livelihood support models, creating motivation for residents to become self-reliant and rise, thereby contributing to a stable, developed, and prosperous border region.
