AI application in teaching, testing, and evaluating English language courses

HNN.VN - On August 15, at the auditorium of Hue Science High school for the Gifted, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City organized a specialized training session titled “AI application in teaching, testing, and evaluating English language courses” for teachers from middle schools and high schools in the area.

The activity was held to implement the Decision No. 131/QĐ-TTg dated January 25, 2022, by the Prime Minister approving the project “Enhancing the application of information technology and digital transformation in education and training for the 2022-2025 period, with a vision towards 2030”, and guide the implementation of general education tasks for the 2025-2026 academic year by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The training was attended by English teachers proficient in using information technology and artificial intelligence. These teachers are the core force at middle schools and high schools responsible for receiving and then passing on the training content to their colleagues at their respective institutions.

In the framework of the program, teachers were equipped with knowledge and skills on applying AI in teaching, including: an overview of AI and trends in its application in education; hands-on practice with teaching support tools and innovative testing and evaluation methods such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Listenrobo, Reading Coach, Mizou, Improvewritenow, Briskteaching, etc., using AI to develop listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills; creating lesson plans and teaching activities integrated with AI; designing evaluation rubrics and providing feedbacks.

After the training session, teachers are responsible for organizing report sessions, sharing, and guiding their colleagues at schools on how to apply AI in teaching and assessment. Major-subject groups and teams will incorporate AI applications into their professional activities and develop action plans suitable for the school’s conditions.
