Zhi Shan Foundation funds the establishment of a friendly library at Thuy Van Primary School
HNN.VN - On April 15th, Zhi Shan Foundation, in coordination with the Center for Social Work and Child Protection Fund, and Thuan Hoa District Department of Education and Training, held the inauguration ceremony of a friendly library at Thuy Van Primary School and presented classroom book cabinets to three schools: Duong No Primary School, Phu Thanh Secondary School, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School.

Zhi Shan Foundation handed over friendly library equipment to Thuy Van Primary School, including tables, chairs, bookshelves, and decorations to create a cozy, friendly, and visually appealing reading space.
In the process, although the school still faces challenges with infrastructure, thanks to the strong cooperation of Thuan Hoa District Department of Education and Training, local authorities, as well as the dedicated efforts of the school, the library was successfully completed and inaugurated in a short period of time.
Additionally, Zhi Shan Foundation also donated classroom book cabinets to three schools: Duong No Primary School, Phu Thanh Secondary School, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School.
The total project cost was 200 million VND, with 150 million VND funded by Zhi Shan Foundation and about 50 million VND from local sources.
The “Be friends with books” project has been implemented by Zhi Shan Foundation in Hue City since 2008. To date, the project has helped establish 115 friendly libraries and 1.064 classroom book cabinets, creating reading opportunities for over 93.600 students in Hue.
In addition to supporting schools in setting up friendly libraries and classroom book cabinets, the project also provides materials, funding for activities, training in reading activity organization, monitoring and field support, outcome evaluations, and hosts reading-related competitions in schools.
