The view of the meeting 

In framework of the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong provided a brief overview of the province’s potential strengths; in which, he emphasized that Thua Thien Hue was one of the prominent national hubs known for its rich culture, tourism, science – technology, specialized healthcare and multi-disciplinary, multi-field and high-quality education – training; Thua Thien Hue has been oriented by the Politburo and the Government of Vietnam to build up the entire province into a centrally-governed municipality.

Mr. Phuong informed that over time, the cooperation between Thua Thien Hue and The US had generally witnessed positive development in various fields such as culture, education and training, healthcare, economy, trade and investment, as well as tourism, science and technology, environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, climate change, and heritage restoration, supporting disabilities, and resolving war consequences; At the same time, he also required the US Consul in Ho Chi Minh City to support Thua Thien Hue in the fields of heritage protection, medical and education – training development as well as the field of natural disaster prevention, etc., especially, to recommend US businesses for coming to research and explore investment opportunities in the provincial area.

Ms. Susan Burns, US General Consul in Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated Thua Thien Hue’s development potential, especially in the tourism – service sector with a gorgeous and fascinating system of heritage and landscapes. Ms. Susan Burns affirmed that in the coming time, the US would promote the relationship with Vietnam in various fields, particularly in the areas of trade, culture, healthcare, and education, etc.

The US Consul in Ho Chi Minh City would carry out research to provide appropriate support and call for US businesses come to learn, as well as explore investment and business opportunities in Thua Thien Hue.
