Foreign non-governmental organizations support Thua Thien Hue USD 3.75 million

HNN.VN - On November 28, the Department of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with the participation of foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Thua Thien Hue province to strengthen the cooperation between the organizations, state management agencies, and local partners in the provincial area.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Thien Dinh affirmed that the province always treasures the contributions of the foreign NGOs, which practically contribute to the beneficial units and individuals. Over the time, the provincial leaders have always cared for and guided the work of foreign NGOs, at the same time, created every favorable condition for them to operate and help the difficult localities.

The Vice Chairman desired that the representatives would exchange and contribute their opinions to help the province better understand the thoughts and aspirations of Vietnamese agencies in the cooperation with foreign NGOs to implement humanitarian activities in the provincial area; effectively exploiting and using the aid capital of the foreign NGOs, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, as well as expanding the friendly cooperation between Thua Thien Hue and localities of other countries all over the world.

According to the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Cong Phu, the current number of licensed foreign NGOs in Hue is 118, in which, 18 organizations have offices or postal addresses in the province. In 2019, the province has received and carried out 39 foreign NGO projects with a total capital of USD 3.75 million.
