Hue welcomes over 150,300 visitors during 9-day Tet holiday

TTH.VN - According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, during the nine-day Lunar New Year of the Snake (At Ty)holiday from January 25th to February 2nd (December 26th to the January 5th in the lunar calendar), Hue welcomed an estimated 150,300 visitors, marking a nearly 37% increase compared to the same period during the Year of the Dragon Tet holiday in 2024.

According to the Department of Tourism, international visitors were estimated to have reached over 69,000, an 81% increase compared to the previous year, while domestic visitors totalled nearly 81,300, a rise of almost 13%. Revenue from tourism was estimated at 245 billion VND, reflecting a 48.48% increase year-over-year.

Hotel stays reached approximately 71,100, up by more than 29% from the previous year. International guests accounted for nearly 33,500, an 8% increase, while domestic visitors numbered close to 37,700, a nearly 57% rise. Room occupancy rate was around 68%.

During peak periods from the 2nd to the 4th day of Tet, many high-end hotels exceeded 80% room occupancy. Notable accommodations with high demand included Laguna Hue Resort, Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort, TTC Imperial Hotel, and Vinpearl Melia Hue.

According to data from the Department of Tourism, during the 9-day Tet holiday, Phu Bai International Airport welcomed and served approximately 112,500 passengers (67,500 arrivals and 45,000 departures) from nearly 300 flights. During this period, Hue Railway Station was estimated to have received about 21,000 passengers (10,000 arrivals and 11,000 departures) via rail transport.

Tourism, service, and travel activities at the beginning of the year showed positive changes. Localities, organizations, and businesses arranged entertainment activities to meet tourists' needs for sightseeing, shopping, relaxation, celebrating the New Year, and participating in festivals. Visitors responded enthusiastically, actively engaging in these events while local hosts displayed their friendliness and hospitality. Some of the most popular tourist attractions included the Imperial Palace (Imperial Citadel), Thai Hoa Palace, Kien Trung Palace, and the mausoleums of emperors (such as emperors Gia Long, Minh Mang, and Tu Duc…)
