“Cycling - The story of a green road”

HNN.VN - “Cycling - The story of a green road” is the topic of a seminar organized by Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies in collaboration with the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, and Vietnam Ashui Group on the afternoon of June 7. The seminar drew the attendance of Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Højlund Christense and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh.

With the participation of domestic and foreign speakers from Copenhagen, Tokyo, Hanoi, Hue, the seminar introduces the week “We ride bicycles”, the orientation of “City of bicycles” of Hue city, the policies on green transport infrastructure and bicycles of Vietnam, as well as sharing about policies for bicycles and stories about Denmark cities of bicycles, etc...

The seminar also discussed directions and policies to build Thua Thien Hue into a green - clean - bright city along with ideal means for the “green” traffic trend and the sustainable development of a tourism city. 

Speaking at the event, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Højlund Christense said: “I am very pleased to be back in Hue city with this meaningful campaign, to support Hue's efforts in turning it into a bicycle city. Nowadays, cycling has become a popular, natural and preferred choice of the Danes. This is the result of unremitting efforts, plans, determination and commitment from all walks of life for more than half a decade.”

Mr. Kim Højlund Christensen hoped that the stories, creative ideas and experiences shared by Danish and Vietnamese experts at the seminar would become a source of inspiration that is helpful to Hue people.
