Money-saving, but still having fun

The global economy is forecast to be more volatile this year, however, tourists are still interested in tourism. According to Booking.com, 63% of travelers say investing in a vacation remains a top priority. Even so, travelers in 2023 will pay more attention to financial issues and have an optimal spending plan for their trips.

To save costs, many people choose to travel on their own, travel with locals or book tour through travel agencies. Using services from tour operators which will design a specific schedule, people just need to enjoy their economical vacations.

Ms. Le Hoang Uyen Mi, the owner of an airline ticket agent in Hue City said that it is the peak season for tours and routes at present. A lot of customers book air tickets to Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc... Normally, customers will book air tickets 2 to 3 weeks, even a few months in advance, to hunt for cheap tickets to save money and have time to schedule the journey.”

Moreover, by using modern technology to search for information by surfing the internet and travel-related applications such as Booking, Agoda, Traveloka..., people can completely find many cheap tours with full details about the trip itinerary (destinations, accommodation, services, costs...). In addition, travelers can compare multiple rates and get instant support when problems arise.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong, a citizen of Hue City shared: “I often optimize travel costs by going out in the low season, avoiding holidays, Tet, summer vacations... That also allows me to avoid the crowded scene and there would be many promotional tours at that time to stimulate customers’ spending. In addition, I also choose to plan the trip a few months in advance to make it easier to arrange my work.”

Hunting for promotion services

Not only saving money and optimizing costs for the whole trip, hunting for cheap promotion services, or even applying discount codes through applications that support travel services is becoming a trend of people who have a passion for travel, especially young people.

With just a smartphone, visitors can easily search for everything from hotel bookings, flight tickets, car rentals... these days. This will help tourist be more proactive in their trips, an at the same time reduce their cost at most when they directly book their accommodation and air tickets or rent a car.

Mr. Hoang Trong Nhan, a 27-year-old citizen of Hue city shared: “I often search for prices of air tickets or hotel rooms by using service support applications. By that way, I can compare prices between airlines with flights at the same time or compare prices between hotels in the same place where I want to go. I will choose the service that offers better price. This is a way to save money but still meet my needs.”

In addition, visitors can accumulate spending by booking cheap tours, choosing cheap hotels and homestays if they want to spend most of their time on exploring and experiencing. Or, for young people who want to focus on backpacking or solo travel, making a schedule and finding out in advance about their destinations will help save money and travel time.

Economical travel helps visitors have meaningful trips but still optimize their costs. This is also the choice of many families as well as tourists from the beginning of this year. However, it also brings great challenges for tourist as well as travel agencies, requiring them to open up many new plans to warm up the tourism market in the near future.
