On the morning of August 30, over 4,500 delegates and residents gathered at the Hue City Culture and Sports Square to take part in the “Together with Vietnam, Moving Forward” walking program. The event shared the same atmosphere of excitement, enthusiasm, and solemnity with 34 provinces and cities nationwide, spreading the message ‘10 Billion Green Steps - For a Sustainable Vietnam’ and promoting the spirit of national solidarity.

Among Vietnamese cities, Hue stands out as an ideal city to build a future "15-Minute City." There, all daily essential needs of residents - such as work, education, shopping, healthcare, entertainment, and relaxation - can be reached within a 15-minute walk or bicycle ride. This idea is currently being pursued and researched by female architect Tran Thi Quynh Huong, a young Hue native dedicated to sustainable urban development.

On the morning of July 24, the Department of Tourism coordinated with Hue Monuments Conservation Center to present gifts to Ms. Ha Phuong and her son in recognition of their 790-km walk from Hanoi to Hue as a gesture of encouragement.

It is a paradise of gentle tranquility found along the pedestrian walkways by the Huong River after being planned, including the Nhu Y riverside route, the network of pedestrian walkways along the Huong River, and riverside parks in the heart of Hue City.

Along with nearly 76,5 million voters nationwide, close to one million voters in Hue City have just joyfully taken part in the Election Day on March 15th, 2026, achieving an outstanding result: 99,99% voter turnout in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Beyond the turnout figure, what stands out is the widespread joy and excitement across all regions, as well as the confidence and hope of people from all walks of life placed in a streamlined government, one with sufficient capability and strength to lead the country into a new era of prosperity, civility, and happiness. On the Lantern Festival (the Full Moon of the First Lunar Month) more than 15 years ago, the most “pure Hue native” friend I know, architect Nguyen Trong Huan, and I put on thin raincoats and walked together through the light, drifting drizzle to search for Hue’s culinary specialties. Having lived in this city for many years, Huan still longed for the flavors he once tasted.

On the evening of September 27, Hue City People's Committee, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, organized the “Vietnam - Republic of Korea Cultural Day 2025” event at the building located at 23 - 25 Le Loi Street, Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street, and the ironwood bridge on the bank of the Huong River.

On September 27-28, 2025, in the area of 23 - 25 Le Loi and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street by the Ironwood Bridge on the Huong River, Hue City People’s Committee will collaborate with the Embassy of South Korea in Vietnam to organize the “Vietnam - South Korea Cultural Day 2025”.

With the motto “Sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character,” the “Green Sunday” movement has been brought to life by the youth of Hue City through practical, community-oriented models and activities, aiming to engage and unite people from all walks of life.

Numerous riverside walking paths along the Perfume and Nhu Y rivers have been and are being invested in and constructed. These not only enhance the urban aesthetics of the city but also serve as key highlights for tourism development.
