On September 10th, the University of Law, Hue University organized a training session to share experience in international academic publishing, aiming to enhance lecturers’ scientific research capacity and promote international publication among its teaching staff.

In this issue, Hue Today Weekly brings readers in-depth perspectives from experts and experienced writers across the fields of culture, the arts and the heritage economy. It also explores topical issues of public interest, including regulations on caps for service fees at public educational institutions across the city, on green tourism, and how Japan preserves its historic villages. ​

On the morning of August 26, the Academy of Journalism and Communication, in coordination with the Department of Home Affairs, opened a training course on ‘Enhancing capacity for civil servants and public employees working on gender equality and the advancement of women’.

The care that Nguyen Phan’s children take of his father’s art legacy is rare and admirable. For a long time, they have been preserving his father’s paintings and sculptures, searching for his missing ones, and making them a family’s legacy to pass to their younger generations, including documents and records of his monuments and public green spaces.

On August 19 and September 2, Vietnamese citizens will be granted free admission to heritage sites managed by Hue Monuments Conservation Center. The initiative offers an opportunity for visitors to explore Hue’s heritage during the public holidays, while gaining deeper understanding of the historical and cultural values of the Ancient Capital.

Drawing inspiration from renowned artists with the combination of traditional materials, the child artists had the chance to experience an inspiring creative journey. Each artwork presented to the public not only showcased the children’s artistic talent but also conveyed a unique message of its own.

On August 13th, a delegation from the Schools of Politics and Public Administration of four Lao provinces: Salavan, Sekong, Champasak, and Savannakhet, visited and surveyed an organic farming model operated by Que Lam Group in Phong Dien Ward.

On August 12th in Hue City, Nguyen Chi Thanh School of Politics held a seminar to exchange experience in personnel training and professional development with a delegation from the Schools of Politics and Public Administration of Salavan, Sekong, Champasak, and Savannakhet provinces in Laos.

One day in mid-July, Vo Que, the poet, and the Hue City Museum of History jointly launched his publication of ‘Loi ca chau ngoc’ (tentative translation: Exquisite Lyrics). Many audience members could not help but be moved by the heartfelt devotion of a man deeply attached to Ca Hue (Hue-Singing music).

After nearly two decades of practicing art, Mr. Nguyen Van He has found himself returning to one question: How can memories be transformed into hope? The Hue-born artist has “distilled” his answer into ‘Folding a Sky’, an exhibition he painstakingly brought from Kim Son Hill to Ho Chi Minh City to present to the public in mid-July.
