In the article, the author observes that while Vietnamese cities have already pursued creative fields such as film, design and music, … no city has yet emerged with sufficient potential to pursue cuisine as its field. If successful, Hue would become the first city in Vietnam to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of gastronomy. Choosing cuisine as Hue’s UCCN field is not simply based on its existing strengths; it also clearly reflects Hue’s identity in cultural, economic and social life and contributes to the city’s sustainable development goals. So, what does Hue need to do to succeed on this path? The article presents a number of practical proposals from respected experts.

‘Necessary Symbiosis’, an article by Dinh Nam on the Forum page, is a confirmation for a comprehensive shift from a ‘licensing’ mindset to ‘service’ one, transforming the relationship between the city and businesses into a necessary symbiosis. To achieve a breakthrough and become a green, heritage-rich and modern centrally governed city, Hue city’s leaders have committed to building a transparent and stable investment environment based on the view that ‘the success of businesses is also the success of the city.’ Investment quality will be prioritized in the direction of green growth, alongside support for the development of digital businesses and breakthroughs in public-private partnerships across many new fields.
Continuing this theme, page 3’s Weekend Encounters features an interview between reporter Van Minh and Mr. Do Thai Duong, Project Director of LEC Group at the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, under the title ‘Making Hue a Regional Logistics Hub’. He argues: “We should not focus solely on building more warehouses or increasing cargo volumes. Instead, we need to optimize transportation, reduce empty-haul distances, lower costs and gradually apply technology, digital transformation and green logistics”.
This week’s Literature and Arts page introduces two articles. One, by Mr. Phan Quoc Vinh, titled ‘Making Museums More Than Places That “Store the Past”’. The other, by Mr. Vo Que, introduces poet Phan Trung Thanh in an article titled ‘From Urban Splendor to Tam Giang Lagoon’.
Bringing back fascinating experiences from the United States, Mr. Phan Quoc Vinh argues that Hue has countless stories to tell - from the imperial court, architecture, fine arts, history, archaeology and folk culture to urban life. What needs to change more fundamentally is the way these stories are told through digital museums. Museums should be allowed to move beyond their physical spaces and become more accessible and engaging ‘mobile museums’.
