On May 4, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, on behalf of the leadership and people of Hue City, sent a letter of appreciation to valued domestic and international visitors who chose Hue as their destination during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday and the holidays of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1). On the occasion of April 30 - May 1 holidays marking Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day, young people in Hue and tourists are drawn to vibrant check-in spots decked out with the colors of the red flag with yellow star, vintage coffee shops, and heritage-rich spaces steeped in local identity. Beyond an opportunity for “checking-in”, these destinations offer a chance for the young to find balance, recharge, and enjoy the holiday in a way that is both reflective and vividly expressive.

On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), on April 29, under authorization, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Manh visited and presented gifts from General Secretary and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam to meritorious beneficiaries currently being cared for at Hue City Center for Nursing and Care for People with Meritorious Service.

In the atmosphere of commemorating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and the 140th anniversary of International Workers' Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), on the morning of April 27, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, and Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in Hue City.

On the afternoon of April 26th, Vietnam Haiku Poetry Club - Hue Ancient Capital branch held a gathering and poetry - music exchange to commemorate the 51st anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30th, 1975 - April 30th, 2026). The event also included the induction of new members, contributing to the spread of verses associated with April memories and love for the homeland.

The song “Tinh ca Mua xuan” (“Spring Love Song”) by Tran Hoan, set to a poem by Nguyen Loan, was born in the spring of 1979 and spread quickly in life in the early years after the reunification. Nearly half a century later, the song still resonates, becoming one of the most beloved songs about spring in the treasure of Vietnamese music.

After the national reunification, Thanh Thuy, Phu Bai, and Huong Thuy wards (formerly Huong Thuy Town), once purely agricultural with virtually no urban infrastructure, have undergone sweeping changes, worthy of their role as the southern growth engine of centrally governed Hue City.

On the first days right after the reunification, the song “Nang thang ba” (Sunlight in March) by Tran Hoan could be heard everywhere throughout the city and the countryside, “Oh darling, look up and dry your tears..." The song quickly won the hearts of Hue people.
