A delegation from Hue City, led by Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People's Council, alongside the Working Group No. 8 of the Vietnam People’s Navy, recently conducted a visit to soldiers and civilians on 7 islands in the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago and at the DK1/16 Phuc Tan Platform.

Ever since, I have held a special affection for Cuba - a distant land possessed a beauty both nostalgic and intense, where culture, music, and history blend into a rhythm uniquely of its own…

In Greek mythology, the supreme god Zeus transformed himself into a bull to seduce the beautiful princess Europa. When she mounted his back, the bull carried her across the sea to the island of Crete, where she gave birth to great kings, seen as an allegory for the birth of European civilization. The continent of Europe was therefore named after her – Europa, later known by the common name Europe.

On the morning of January 30, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with the City Party’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization and the city Department of Education and Training, organized the city-level “I Love Homeland’s Seas and Islands” contest for the 2025-2026 academic year.

On the afternoon of January 29, as part of the contest “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” for the 2025-2026 academic year, the City Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization, in coordination with the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, organized a working delegation to visit and present Tet gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in My Thuong, Phu Ho, and Thanh Thuy wards and communes.

On December 3rd, Hue City Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For Our Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club, held a ceremony to present scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year to ethnic minority and island-area students in the city.

The Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Hue City, the Propaganda Department, and the Mass Mobilization Committee of Hue City Party Committee, has launched an online contest titled “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” for the 2025-2026 academic year. The contest is aimed at Secondary school students from seven coastal communes and wards in Hue City.

During 2 days, including September 6 and 7, Hue Youth Union held a program called the Journey of “Hue’s youth with homeland’s sea and islands” in 2025 in Quang Tri Province.

Beneath the bright red national flag proudly flying over the skies of Truong Sa (Spratly Islands), we silently call out the names of the heroic martyrs who gave their lives to defend the sacred seas and islands of our homeland, hearing their echoes within the gentle murmur of waves welcoming a new, peaceful day.

On the morning of June 4, Hue City Youth and Children Activity Center organized the “Youth and Children with the Homeland's Sea and Islands” Day in 2025.
