On the morning of September 17th, Hue Central Hospital (HCH) and Vietnam Association of Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery jointly organized the 2026 National Scientific Conference on Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery (VASEL 2026), themed ‘Technological Innovation - Integrating AI to Advance Laparoscopic Surgery’.

On September 15th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, organized the 2026 Resident Doctors’ Day and welcomed 150 new resident doctors from 18 specialties for the 2026-2029 training program. These young doctors are beginning their journey of study, practice and research at the hospital.

Hue Central Hospital has recently been recognized by Newsweek and Statista in the ‘Best Specialized Hospital Asia Pacific 2026’ ranking for oncology. The recognition not only highlights the hospital’s expertise but also paves the way to elevate Hue’s healthcare sector, heading towards the development of a medical ecosystem that contributes to the city’s growth.

On the morning of August 29, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, in coordination with the Department of Health, Hue Central Hospital, and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a national scientific conference themed ‘Climate Change and Non-Communicable Diseases: Issues and Solutions’.

On the morning of August 21st, Hue Central Hospital, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, opened the 14th Annual Hue Scientific Conference on Cancer Prevention and Control. The conference brought together more than 600 delegates, including over 30 international experts, speakers and lecturers, to exchange professional expertise and provide updates on the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

From August 19 to 21, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 2nd International Thalassemia Conference, gathering 25 international delegates from 12 countries along with over 200 domestic doctors and experts.

Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital announced on August 17th that, as part of its international cooperation activities, the university had partnered with the US-based Operation International (OI) and DCA to provide free screening and surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate.

On the morning of August 17, in Khe Tre Commune, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup), and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, in coordination with Saigon Eye Hospital - Song Han, held a humanitarian eye-screening program for ethnic minority people in the two mountainous communes of Khe Tre and Long Quang.

On August 12, Hue City Rehabilitation Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Home Affairs and VietHealth Orthopedic Co. Ltd., launched a program to provide medical examinations, consultations, assessments, maintenance, and repairs of prosthetic limbs for people who have made contributions to the revolution in Hue City.

From August 10 to 12, a team of staff from the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University) collaborated with a team of doctors from Hue Central Hospital to successfully carry out a series of trials of an automated surgical robotic arm system on an animal model (pigs).
