On February 14th, the Gulfstream G650ER private jet, bearing the registration VN-A968, carrying several passengers, landed at Phu Bai International Airport. This aircraft is considered one of the most beautiful private jets in Southeast Asia as of now.

Moving beyond charter flights, Thua Thien Hue is establishing a regular flight route with Taiwan (China) to Phu Bai International Airport, expected to start in early September 2024.

Since the opening of Terminal 2 at Phu Bai International Airport in April 2023, Thua Thien Hue has been able to operate international routes, though primarily in the form of charter flights. Developing these into regular commercial flights with stable frequency requires time and appropriate solutions.

On the morning of July 2, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Tourism to coordinate with Vietjet Air, Phu Bai International Airport, and other relevant units to welcome the first international flight by Vietjet Air to Terminal 2 - Phu Bai International Airport.

On the morning of June 17th, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) held a grand opening ceremony for the T2 Passenger Terminal at Phu Bai International Airport. This is a project to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises.

On May 30, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh had a working session with the Commercial Department – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet) about opening new domestic and international flights to Hue.

The Terminal T2 of Phu Bai International Airport has been completed and put into operation, opening up new opportunities for Thua Thien Hue to accelerate and develop.

On the morning of April 28th, an A321 aircraft with flight number VN 1370 from Vietnam Airlines carried 168 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue. This was the first flight to “inaugurate” Terminal T2 at Phu Bai International Airport.

On the morning of January 1, 2023, the Department of Tourism collaborated with the Central Airport Authority, Phu Bai International Airport and Vietnam Airlines - Hue branch to welcome the first tourists coming to Thua Thien Hue by air in 2023.

On the morning of August 22, Hai Van International Transport Joint Venture Company - Hue branch (Hai Van Company) held a press conference to introduce bus routes from the center of Hue city to Phu Bai International Airport and vice versa. This service is expected to be put into pilot operation from August 27.
