At the meeting, Mr. Jin Zhang, Director of the Operations Center of Donghai Airlines, gave an overview of the airline’s operations and affirmed that Hue has all the necessary conditions and is highly suitable for operating the Shenzhen - Hue route and vice versa. In addition, the airline is also considering the possibility of opening a HongKong - Hue route in the near future.

Mr. Le Minh Trieu, Director of Phu Bai International Airport, said that the airport has fully prepared the necessary conditions to receive and serve international flights and is ready to cooperate with Donghai Airlines in operating the new route. He also proposed that Hue City People’s Committee direct relevant departments and agencies to provide close support and coordination, as well as implement incentive policies to bring the Shenzhen - Hue air route into operation as soon as possible, expected around November or December 2025.

Chairman Phan Thien Dinh agreed in principle and affirmed that the city will create the most favorable conditions for the route to commence soon. He asked all parties to actively coordinate, promptly finalize specific operational plans, and promptly report any difficulties for the city to resolve.

To ensure effectiveness, the city’s leaders suggested that both sides develop a commitment to a minimum flight schedule and stable operation frequency, possibly piloting for 3-6 months with a minimum frequency of three flights per week, followed by performance evaluation. They also recommended researching flexible pricing policies, revenue-sharing mechanisms, and technical and ground operation support to reduce costs and improve passenger experience.

The city also encourages both sides to cooperate in developing two-way Hue - Shenzhen tour packages, co-sponsor tourism promotion campaigns, and organize training programs on the Chinese language, culture, and electronic payment systems to better serve tourists.

Chairman Phan Thien Dinh hoped that the launch of the Shenzhen - Hue route will help promote the image and unique tourism products of Hue, attract more international visitors, and boost the city’s tourism and economic development in the coming period.

To soon bring back a “green - clean - bright” Hue

“Dear everyone! Let's join hands to make Hue clean and beautiful again soon!” - I paused for a long moment in front of that message - a message sent out by HEPCO (Hue Urban Environment and Public Works Joint Stock Company) just as the floodwaters in Hue slowly, little by little, receded, revealing massive amounts of trash and damaged items submerged in the murky water.
