On the morning of January 21, Hue Central Hospital announced that on January 6, 2026, the hospital marked a significant milestone in Vietnamese medicine. For the first time, surgeons successfully performed a simultaneous surgery to remove two giant polycystic kidneys and perform a kidney transplant. This success not only opens up new hope for patients with end-stage renal failure, but also confirms the ability to master intensive organ transplantation techniques by Vietnamese medical teams.

Held for the first time in Hue City, the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 (taking place from December 10th to 12th) not only contributes to honoring Vietnamese tea culture but also is expected to serve as an important starting point, laying the foundation for the formation of a profound cultural, artistic, and tourism-oriented annual event, helping enrich Hue’s identity and enhance its attractiveness.

On the morning of November 18th, a working delegation from the Central Youth Union, led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, visited Hue City to congratulate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th) and to give gifts to children and youth affected by the flood in Hue City.

As reported by Hue Central Hospital, they have marked a significant milestone in Vietnamese medicine by successfully performing the first kidney transplant in the country using the LifePort hypothermic machine perfusion (HMP) system. This is a breakthrough in organ preservation technology, and opens a new chapter for Vietnam’s organ transplantation field.

The exhibition titled “HER-ITAGE - Restructuring Traditional Embroidery”, held in late September, left many emotions and beautiful impressions on visitors and Hue residents with bridal gowns that carry cultural stories. At the exhibition, viewers could see firsthand the delicate, creative, and soaring carvings, inlays, and cuts of Vietnamese traditional embroidery art shown on vivid patterns of bridal gowns, including Hue royal motifs.

Such was the theme of a seminar as part of the activities for the first “Quintessence of Vietnamese Martial Arts Festival - Hue 2025”, held on the afternoon of March 22nd at Duyet Thi Duong Theater - Hue Imperial Citadel.

After two days of events, the first Quintessence of Vietnamese Martial Arts Festival - Hue 2025 concluded with a closing ceremony on the afternoon of March 22 at the Duyet Thi Duong Theater.

On the evening of March 21st, the opening ceremony of the first-ever “Vietnamese Martial Arts Festival - Hue 2025” took place at Ngo Mon Square - Hue Imperial Citadel, with the theme “Heroic spirit of the nation.”

In the third quarter round of the 24th “Road to Mount Olympia” (with Vietnamese title being “Duong len dinh Olympia”), which was broadcasted on the afternoon of July 7, Vo Quang Phu Duc, a representative from Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, excellently won the first prize.

On the night of May 6th, 2024, the three romances composed by Le Tu Minh, a Hue-native musician, were played at the Auditorium of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. That was indeed a historic moment because it was the first time Vietnamese music had been played on stage at the oldest and most prestigious symphony house of Russia.
