When people think of Hue, many envision a serene land “steeped” in Buddhism with hundreds of temples and pagodas. Amid the bustling rhythm of a modern Hue, life behind each pagoda gate is far from dull, but it is a refined embodiment of spiritual beauty that deeply enriches the inner world of many residents of the Ancient Capital. Here, every scene, every space, every presence expressed a quiet, profound stillness, like a sutra in motion.

On the morning of August 1, Hue City Red Cross held a conference to launch the project titled “Disaster response for animals in Vietnam”. This is the first time that this project has been implemented in Hue with the sponsor from World Animal Protection, an international organization.

On July 26, the Eye Center of Hue Central Hospital officially put into operation the CONSTELLATION® Vision System – Alcon, one of the most advanced ophthalmic surgical devices in the world today. This marks an important milestone in the hospital’s strategy to develop high-tech medical techniques, contributing practical benefits to patients in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.

“Up to now, nearly 200 works and items within the Complex of Hue Monuments have been preserved, restored, and renovated, with a total expense of over 2.000 billion VND. This work has always strictly complied with the regulations of the 1972 World Heritage Convention, UNESCO guidelines, and the Law on Cultural Heritage of Vietnam, ensuring authenticity, integrity, and adaptability to the harsh climate conditions of the Central region of Vietnam, etc.,”. These details were shared by Hue Monuments Conservation Center to Mr. Lazare Eloundou, Director of UNESCO Cultural Heritage Center during his visit and working trip in Vietnam at the end of May.

Noticeable was the opening of the oil painting exhibition by Hoang Nhu Thuy An at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. Hoang Nhu Thuy An is Hoang Nhu Bua’s pseudonym, born in 1948, originally from Cau Hai (Cao Do) in Phu Loc, Hue, but currently living in Da Lat. The special thing is that all those paintings were painted after his stroke culminating in hemiplegia. He has learnt to paint with his left hand since then.

With the support of the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF - Vietnam), the project to develop the value chain of native medicinal plants in the Central Truong Son region, implemented by Green Alliance Company, has brought many positive results for local people and the community.

On July 12, 2025, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem, Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes (located in Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh provinces, and Hai Phong City) was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

From July 5th - 8th, a delegation from Hue City, led by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong, participated in the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC 47) held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris (France).

On the afternoon of June 27, the Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam” under the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF - Vietnam), organized the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the “Making Hue Cleaner” Contest on the Hue-S digital platform in 2025.

On the morning of June 1st, in Vinh Thanh Commune (Phu Vang District), the People's Committee of Hue City, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and Military Region 4, organized a program in response to World Environment Day, Vietnam Sea and Island Week, and launched the “Summer Youth Volunteer” campaign, and the “Youth with the Homeland’s Seas and Islands” program 2025.
