A variety of activities
According to Mr. Dinh Ngoc Hung - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune, the “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay 2026” program is scheduled to take place from June 5th to 7th, while several accompanying activities will also be organized from May onward. This is one of the key cultural and tourism events of Chan May - Lang Co Commune in response to Hue Festival 2026, and also an occasion to honor the natural beauty of Lang Co Bay - a member of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Club. Through this series of events, promoting the image of the land and people of Chan May - Lang Co to domestic and international visitors will also become more effective.
According to the plan, the “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay 2026” program will feature many special activities with strong community engagement and rich local cultural identity. Most activities will take place along Nguyen Van walking street, Lap An Lagoon (An Cu Lagoon), and the beach area. The highlight will be the “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay” art performance program on the evening of June 6 at Nguyen Van walking street, featuring the participation of many artists and singers, promising to bring a vibrant and attractive atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
In addition to the art program, many other cultural and sports activities will also be organized, including creative camps and painting and photography exhibitions themed “Memories and the Present”; floating lantern releases on Lap An Lagoon; street music and folk dance performances; street food activities; and artistic kite flying. Various sports activities will also take place within the framework of the program, including pickleball competitions, women’s football on artificial turf fields, and jogging events. Environmental protection and beach-cleaning activities will also be organized.
To serve residents and visitors, the locality plans to build two check-in spots at the beach and Lap An Lagoon area. Visitors will be able to capture memorable photos while immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere.
Mr. Hung said the locality is also encouraging participation from residents, service businesses, and tourism enterprises to create a vibrant festival atmosphere and spread the beautiful image of Lang Co to visitors from near and far. “We identify local residents as both the main actors and the direct beneficiaries of tourism development, so their cooperation and joint efforts in building a civilized tourism environment are extremely important,” Mr. Hung shared.
Careful preparation to spread value
Three years ago, many activities during the celebration marking the 15th anniversary of “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay”, organized by the former Phu Loc District People’s Committee, attracted large numbers of visitors from many places. This year, Chan May - Lang Co Commune is also investing heavily in the program with the hope of continuing to create positive impacts. Although each organizing unit may have different orientations in designing the program, all share the same goal of spreading the values of beautiful Lang Co Bay and promoting tourism development.
In reality, despite possessing significant potential, tourism in Lang Co has not yet developed to its full potential. Therefore, according to Chairman of the Chan May - Lang Co Commune People’s Committee Dinh Ngoc Hung, this series of activities is expected to create many new tourism products, contributing to tourism stimulation, socio-economic development, and reinforcing the position of beautiful Lang Co Bay on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world. Through this, the locality also aims to strengthen connections with businesses and investors while gradually building a green, friendly, civilized, and sustainable tourism brand.
Mr. Tran Minh Khoi, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Division of Chan May - Lang Co Commune, said the locality has proactively worked with tourism and service businesses in the area to inform them about the program and encourage them to prepare specific plans and measures to improve service quality and visitor hospitality. Particular attention has been paid to hotels, guesthouses, and homestays to ensure adequate accommodation services for tourists.
The locality has also continued to remind restaurants and service providers to strictly comply with price listing regulations and sell according to listed prices; prevent situations such as soliciting customers and the problem of waste causing environmental pollution; improve service quality; and build a tourism environment in the locality in particular, and in Hue in general, that is friendly, safe, and civilized.
The commune People’s Committee has also assigned units to develop plans and implement tasks to ensure security and order, traffic safety, healthcare services, food safety, and the protection of landscapes and the environment for Lang Co Bay in particular and the commune area in general.
