At a small workshop on Chi Lang Street, artisan Do Huu Triet is experimenting with new applications of Phap lam. A brass violin stands out as his boldest creation, reflecting his aspiration to bring traditional materials into innovative and unconventional forms.

​ On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on February 8th, the Trade Union of Thuan Hoa Ward organized the program “Tet Reunion - Spring in Gratitude to the Party”, featuring many practical activities to support union members and workers so they can welcome the traditional Tet holiday in joy and warmth. Hue Central Hospital also organized the program “Spring Tet Market” for disadvantaged patients currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

On the evening of February 7, at Kim Long Park in front of Kim Long Communal House, Kim Long Ward People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of the program “Kim Long Tet - Where Tradition Shines” 2026. The event is a hallmark community cultural activity that recreates the traditional Tet atmosphere while honoring and promoting the distinctive cultural values of Hue City - the historically rich land along the Huong River.

On the morning of February 3, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, received representatives from various religious organizations, who visited the city leaders on the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), and extended traditional Tet greetings, and celebrated the success of the 14th National Party Congress.

On February 2, the Command of Hue City Border Guard welcomed a delegation from Sekong Provincial Police of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Colonel Khamkhang Thongsa Vat, Deputy Director of Sekong Provincial Police, on a Tet courtesy visit on the occasion of Vietnam’s traditional Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.

On the evening of January 31, Hue City Youth Center organized a traditional Tet experience program titled “The scent of Vietnamese spring”, under the theme “Spring of connection - Peaceful Tet”.

On the afternoon of January 29th, Hue University of Sciences High School for Gifted Students organized an experiential activity titled “Hue Tuong masks - When art becomes heritage” for students. The program is part of the Local Education curriculum, aiming to help students gain a deeper understanding of local history and culture, thereby fostering love for their homeland and an awareness of the importance of respecting and preserving traditional cultural heritage values.

From February 7 to 15, 2026 (corresponding to the 20th to 28th days of the Lunar December of the Year of At Ty), the People’s Committee of Hoa Chau Ward will organize the “Hoa Chau Tet Festival” along Bao Vinh Pedestrian Street. The event will feature a wide range of distinctive cultural and community activities, helping to create a lively and joyful atmosphere for residents in celebration of the traditional Tet holiday of Binh Ngo 2026.

In Hue, the traditional Lunar New Year “Tet” does not arrive with fanfare. It begins quietly in the kitchen, from a pot of banh tet (a cylindrical sticky rice cake with mung beans and pork) glowing over the fire, from the warm scent of ginger, from a jar of mixed pickled vegetables. Just by looking at these dishes, people in Hue know that Tet is very near.

Despite being widely recognized for its deep-rooted football tradition, Hue has struggled for years with the thorny issue of retaining young talents. Numerous players nurtured by local training centers have moved on upon reaching a critical stage of development, steadily eroding the pool of successors for Hue football.
