More than 200 Athletes Compete at the Expanded Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts Club Tournament of Buddhist Martial Arts Schools
HNN.VN - On the morning of August 29, the Hue City Youth and Children’s Center, in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Martial Arts Schools, organized the 2nd Expanded Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts Club Tournament of Buddhist Martial Arts Schools in 2026.

Taking place over 2 days (August 29 and 30), the tournament this year had the participation of 16 clubs with 206 athletes, 28 martial arts masters, and coaches.
At the tournament, athletes competed in two disciplines, martial arts performances and sparring competitions, with 68 sets of medals up awarded. In the sparring discipline, martial artists were divided into five age groups (2015-2016, 2013-2014, 2011-2012, 2009-2010, and 1996-2008) and competed for 42 sets of medals. Meanwhile, the martial arts performance discipline featured four age groups (2017-2020, 2015-2016, 2011-2014 and 2008-2010), with 26 sets of medals awarded.
A representative of the Hue City Youth and Children’s Center noted that the tournament not only provided martial arts students with a competitive playground but also allowed the clubs to assess the quality of their training, as well as gain experiences in organizing and competing in tournaments. It also helped identify and nurture promising athletes, contributing to the wider development of traditional martial arts.
