Kim Long Garden Houses, located in Kim Long Ward, Hue City, are home to mangosteen trees that are roughly a century old.

On a Sunday morning at the foot of Hon Vuon Mountain, groups of runners busily laced up their trail shoes, adjusted their trekking poles and hydration vests before setting off along steep, rocky paths still glistening with morning dew. Instead of pounding the familiar flat streets, they head into the mountains and forests to challenge themselves. Trail running is rapidly gaining popularity in Hue, attracting a growing number of enthusiasts, from young adults to runners well into their 60s.

On the afternoon of July 16th, in Khe Tre Commune, the Youth Union of the Party Agencies, in collaboration with the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Sciences, Hue University and the Khe Tre Commune Youth Union, organized the Peak Day of the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, featuring a wide range of community welfare initiatives, livelihood support programs, and activities benefiting ethnic minority communities.

On July 13th and 14th, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, in collaboration with Hong Lien Foundation, Inc., organized a community outreach program providing free dental examinations, consultations, and treatment, along with charitable donations, for residents in the mountainous district of A Luoi. On July 11th, Vietnam's Ministry of Health, in coordination with Hue City People's Committee, Hue Central Hospital, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, organized a free health screening program for more than 1.000 residents in Binh Dien and Khe Tre communes. The initiative aims to bring high-quality healthcare services closer to local communities, strengthen primary healthcare, and advance the goal of comprehensive health management for the entire population.

In the context of the rapidly growing experiential tourism trend, cuisine is no longer viewed as a supplementary service but has become an important competitive edge for the tourism industry.

On June 27, at the Ethnic Cultural House of Khe Tre Commune (208 Khe Tre Street), the People's Committee of Khe Tre Commune organized the Khe Tre Highland Market - Second session of 2026, themed “Agricultural Products Market”. The event aims to showcase local products, promote the consumption of agricultural products, and introduce the highland cultural identity to people and visitors.

“Instead of just harvesting the fruits to sell at the market, now I also ‘sell’ the shade beneath the trees, the hands-on experience of bending branches to pluck the fruits, and the human life stories deeply intertwined with the lifespan of the trees”..., shared old farmer Le Thong, the owner of an orchard with over 200 trees in Thuan Loc Village, Binh Dien Commune.

Workshops such as pottery making, picture coloring, and “healing”-themed cafés (spaces designed to promote relaxation and emotional well-being) have become increasingly common in Hue in recent years. This trend reflects young people's growing desire to achieve mental balance amid academic and work-related pressures, as well as a lifestyle closely tied to social media. Beginning as an emotional concept, “healing” has gradually given rise to a distinct service market targeting young customers in Hue.

Hue City is the urban area with the highest density of trees in the country, with more than 64,000 trees lining its streets, parks, and lush green garden houses. These trees are cared for and protected by both local authorities and residents, beautifying the city while serving as a natural shield that brings a refreshing sense of coolness during the scorching summer heat.

Amid the cool mountain air of Bach Ma National Park, beneath a star-filled sky and alongside the gentle murmur of streams flowing through the park’s majestic landscape, a group of young performers from Hon Viet Event treated visitors to an emotionally musical night show with “Symphony No. 5: A Date with the Clouds and Sky”.

This is the surviving lychee (hac le chi) tree, believed to have been grown from three lychee fruits bestowed upon the palace by the emperor. The tree casts shade over a corner of the palace, and its trunk is so wide that it would take several people to embrace it.

The Firmiana simplex flower is a unique one of Hue, with its dreamy shades of pink and purple colors. According to historical records, Emperor Minh Mang was so fond of the flower that he brought it to plant beside Can Chanh Palace and some corners of other palaces.

On cold winter days, the red Sau Sau leaves fall, leaving bare branches. At this time, the Sau Sau forest evokes a sense of wandering into unfamiliar lands.
