Attending the program were Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health and Chairman of the National Medical Council; Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of Hue City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee; Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, along with leaders of relevant agencies and organizations.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan emphasized that the program carries the message, "For a Healthier Vietnam", reflecting the healthcare sector's commitment to bringing quality medical services closer to the public and ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality healthcare. According to the Deputy Minister, regular health checkups represent an important shift from treating diseases to preventing them, from late diagnosis to early detection, and toward long-term health management for every citizen.

As part of the program, 1.000 residents from Binh Dien and Khe Tre communes received comprehensive medical examinations, specialist consultations, chest X-rays, and necessary laboratory tests to facilitate the early detection of non-communicable diseases, respiratory illnesses, breast cancer, and other health risk factors. In addition to medical examinations, the organizing committee donated medical equipment to grassroots healthcare facilities and distributed practical gifts to disadvantaged households and patients in the area.
According to Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang, the city has approved a plan to implement a free health screening program for the 2026 - 2030 period, with the goal of ensuring that 100 percent of people living, studying, and working in Hue receive at least one free annual health checkup or screening. The city officially launched the program on July 1st in Phong Thai Ward, and the healthcare sector has since expanded it to multiple localities across Hue.

The examination results will be uploaded to each participant's Electronic Health Record to support continuous health management and improve the effectiveness of public healthcare services. Under the city's plan, by the end of 2026, Hue aims to provide free health checkups for more than 1.27 million residents, with priority given to the elderly, people with meritorious service to the nation, poor and near-poor households, people with disabilities, individuals living with chronic diseases, and ethnic minority communities in mountainous areas.
As part of the program, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan and the delegation also participated in several community welfare activities. The Bright Tomorrow Cancer Patient Support Fund presented 100 gift packages to disadvantaged cancer patients receiving treatment at Hue Central Hospital. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tuyet in Thanh Thuy Ward and attended the inauguration and handover ceremony of a Compassion House in Huong Thuy Ward. These activities aim to support local residents in improving their living conditions while demonstrating the healthcare sector's commitment to social responsibility and community solidarity.
