Thai Y Vien was a form of medical service in ancient Hue. How to exploit this heritage, making it into a tourist product and service is what people involved are seriously thinking about.

As the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced, on November 18th, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Dinh Toan Thang, Vietnamese Ambassador to France, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien, Director General of the Department of Cultural Heritage, together with representatives from Ministry of Public Security (Vietnam), the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, and UNESCO, witnessed the transfer ceremony of the ‘Emperor’s Treasure’ golden seal to Vietnam on the afternoon of November 16th at the Vietnamese Embassy in France.

Owning a diversified culinary background with various unique features, Thua Thien Hue has a potential to explore and develop culinary tourism. To reach effectiveness, instead of simple activities of visiting and enjoying food, the province has to pay much more attention to local-original culinary experiences.

On the afternoon of November 8th, the Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Department of Tourism, organized the forum themed “Promoting investment activities and open innovation in the province’s tourism industry”.

According to recent statistics on the tourism industry, the top 10 tourist markets to Hue were Taiwan, Malaysia, Spain, Australia, America, Thailand, England, Germany, France, and Korea.

Hue - “The National Green City” is the urban with highest density of green trees all over the country, with nearly 70.000 urban green trees. The rows of dense and shady old trees on Ngo Quyen, Le Loi, August 23, Doan Thi Dien, Bach Dang, and Le Duan streets, etc., or in the parks such as Tu Tuong, February 3, Ly Tu Trong, etc., have solicited the attention of many tourists amid sunny days.

Not only famous for its important and beautiful lagoon system in Vietnam, Tam Giang - Cau Hai also holds great potential for tourism development.

Cruise ship tourists are high-end ones. In addition to spending heavily in the places they visit, cruise ship tourists also contribute to spreading the appeal of the destination. The thing is, however, how to attract this type of tourist, the solution of which lies in investing in creating attractive products right from the “gateway” of Chan May Port, all the way to Hue City.

On the afternoon of October 26, Hue College of Tourism, in collaboration with Cholimex Food Company, organized a competition in search of Hue culinary ambassador - season 4, 2023, with the theme “Delicious Hue Dishes”.
