Unable to rely solely on love for the craft or pride in the past, Hue’s craft villages must step beyond traditional pathways toward a new journey: Transforming production thinking, applying technology, embracing green transition, elevating quality, and telling cultural stories in more modern ways.

On the occasion of the Great Vu Lan (Ullambana) Festival of Filial Piety, the Social Charity Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City recently organized activities to present loving gifts to lonely elderly people and disadvantaged children.

A kite originating from Hue, which has been preserved for nearly 60 years in a museum in the United States, was discovered by a Vietnamese restoration expert. Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.

Alongside promotional activities in several European countries, Hue City’s tourism sector has teamed up with Da Nang to present Central Vietnam tourism in general and that of Hue in particular to the tourism markets of Malaysia and Indonesia. These are considered traditional and promising sources of tourists for Hue.

On the morning of September 5th, at the opening ceremony for 2025-2026 school year, Sacombank gave out 85 “Nurturing Dreams” scholarships 2025 to students from eight schools across Hue City.

Hue participated in the event with the joint stall of three localities Quang Tri - Hue - Danang.

On the morning of September 4th, the Department of Tourism announced statistics on visitor arrivals to Hue in the first eight months of 2025. Notably, France topped the international tourist market to Hue with nearly 64.200 tourists during the period, accounting for 13,5% of the city’s international tourist arrivals.
