The 8th Hue Thanh Tra Pomelo Festival 2026, with the theme 'The Sweetness Once Offered to Kings', will take place from August 29th to 31st, organized by Thuy Xuan Ward People’s Committee.

A procession of boats taking part in the Hue Nam Temple Festival (Hon Chen Temple) traveled one after another from downtown Hue City upstream along the Huong River toward Mount Ngoc Tran, creating a lively atmosphere on the river.

On the afternoon of August 19th, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh led a delegation on a field trip to inspect investment and production activities at Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone and Phu Bai Industrial Park. Leaders of relevant departments, agencies, localities and units also joined the delegation.

On the morning of August 17, in Khe Tre Commune, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup), and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, in coordination with Saigon Eye Hospital - Song Han, held a humanitarian eye-screening program for ethnic minority people in the two mountainous communes of Khe Tre and Long Quang.

On the morning of August 14th, Hue City Association of the Blind held a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Vocational Training and Employment Center for the Blind (August 17th, 2006 - August 17th, 2026). Over the past two decades, the Center has made sustained efforts in vocational training and job creation, helping people with visual impairments gradually build confidence, become more self-reliant, and achieve greater stability in their lives.

This is one of Hue City's aspirations and strategic directions for destination marketing and communications, as shared at a 2026 networking program for Multi-Channel Network (MCN) companies, content creator management agencies, and KOLs. Organized by Hue City People's Committee on the afternoon of August 14 under the theme ‘Converging Excellence - Spreading Hue's Identity’, the event was attended by Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of Hue City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee.

“Chan May - Lang Co needs to be developed into a growth hub for industry, logistics, services and tourism in Hue City and the central region. Every decision on infrastructure investment must focus on long-term effectiveness, synchronization, and a clear roadmap, while having the capacity to create breakthroughs in socio-economic development,” Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh emphasized that at a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Management Board of Hue City Economic and Industrial Zones on August 12 to discuss infrastructure investment in economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters, as well as investment attraction.

On August 12, Hue City Rehabilitation Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Home Affairs and VietHealth Orthopedic Co. Ltd., launched a program to provide medical examinations, consultations, assessments, maintenance, and repairs of prosthetic limbs for people who have made contributions to the revolution in Hue City.

It is not even the end of the sixth lunar month, but I have already heard elderly men in my neighborhood enthusiastically asking one another how the upcoming Autumn offering ceremony will be organized at the village communal house, and whether the heads of the clans have made plans to meet yet. It may seem strange that amid the bustle of city life, these elderly men are passionately talking about village affairs. The village communal house is not far away either, just a few dozen meters from my house. “The city also began with villages. Preserving the roots of the village means preserving its culture for future generations. You young people should remember that,” they would tell me whenever I asked.

On the morning of August 12, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Ha Van Tuan received and held a working session with Mr. Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, Commercial Counsellor and Head of Economic Diplomacy and Trade at the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, along with representatives from Carlsberg Vietnam.
