Over 150 highland residents from Nam Dong and A Luoi received free cataract surgeries, returning to their daily lives. This is the result of two meaningful volunteer surgery missions led by Professor Hattori Tadashi from Hue Eye Hospital and other humanitarian organizations.

Strong growth in the number of international visitors, as well as recognition from the press and the world’s leading prestigious tourism organizations, open up opportunities for Hue to put a spotlight on its tourism. Hue City aims to establish a smart tourism information infrastructure which is compatible with smart devices, contributing to ensuring a consistent management system and the utilization of cultural and tourism information among local organizations. This is the objective of the project to build a smart cultural and tourism Hue city, sponsored by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam).

Hue tourism enjoys positive results in the first 6 months of the year, including increased visitor numbers, a substantial rise in revenue, and potentials of expanding into international tourist markets. Many hotels and resorts in the Ancient Capital have also received high rankings in evaluations conducted by international tourism organizations.

With the efforts of local authorities, the Government as well as international organizations, after 30 years of being honored as a world heritage site by UNESCO, the Complex of Hue Monuments has gradually recovered its original appearance and is in its phase of stability, development and value promotion.
