Hue City leaders receive international guests on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026

HNN.VN - On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on the evening of February 2, Hue City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City organized a Spring Reception to meet, congratulate, and express gratitude to diplomatic agencies, international organizations, investors, experts, and friends, who have partnered and cooperated with the locality over the past years.

In his welcoming speech at the event, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that 2025 was the first year Hue officially became a centrally-governed municipality, and achieved significant results across various sectors.

The city leaders respectfully acknowledged and expressed their sincere thanks for the effective support and partnership of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, investors, experts, and foreign volunteers, who have made significant contributions to the process of development, integration, and the promotion of Hue’s image to the world.

Entering 2026, the inaugural year of the 2026 - 2030 development period, Hue City has defined its goal of building a “Creative Heritage City”, where cultural heritage and modern technology coexist to create a foundation for sustainable development.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere of the early spring, the city leaders extended their best New Year wishes to the distinguished guests, and expressed their hope that the friendly relations and cooperation between Hue and its international partners will grow even stronger and more enduring in the coming time.

*On the afternoon of the same day, a delegation from Savannakhet Province (Lao People's Democratic Republic), led by Mr. Thongsay Xayyavong Khamdi, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Savannakhet Provincial Administrative Committee, visited and extended Tet greetings for the Lunar New Year of the Horse in Hue City.

During the meeting, Mr. Thongsay Xayyavong Khamdi affirmed that this visit would further contribute to strengthening and deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and the Peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, extended wishes for good health and success to the Savannakhet Province’s delegation. He also expressed confidence that, based on the foundation of the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, the relationship between Hue City and Savannakhet Province in particular, and between Vietnam and Laos in general, will become increasingly close, effective, and continuously developing.
