On July 20th, the provincial Red Cross Society, Oxfam in Vietnam, and the New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi organized a summary workshop for the project “Post-COVID-19 livelihood recovery for female farmers in particularly difficult and for difficult communes in Thua Thien Hue.” The event was attended by Ms. Caroline Rachel Beresford, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam.

During his childhood, President Ho Chi Minh and his family lived, worked, studied, and participated in patriotic activities in Thua Thien Hue for nearly 10 years. This was during the period of 1895 - 1901, when He was known as Nguyen Sinh Cung (from 5 to 11 years old), and the second period of 1906 - 1909, when He was known as Nguyen Tat Thanh (from 16 to 19 years old).
Telling historical stories with sketches

The sketches created by Artist Nguyen Van Nguyen successfully depict the heroic historical years of the resistance war fought by the people and soldiers of Binh Tri Thien against the US. These sketches accurately portrayed the lives of compatriots and soldiers during this time. Many of these works were composed during the war and were introduced to the public for the first time in an exhibition titled “Memory Land”.

After the complete liberation of the South, the country was unified, Thua Thien Hue remained a locality bearing many scars of war; the lives of the people were extremely difficult; many buildings, architectures were desolate and in ruins. But it is also from here that the Ancient Capital is not alone on its journey of revival from desolation and gradually developing in a sustainable manner, with the goal of striving to become a centrally-governed city with its own unique strengths.

From Vietnam - Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh, 3 donated organs were transported to Hue and transplanted into 3 patients on April 2nd. This marks another record for Hue Central Hospital in cross-Vietnam organ transplantation. Thua Thien Hue Online has documented the speedy journey and efforts to save the lives of patients.
