At the beginning of 2026, shuttlecock athlete Le Van Dong was honored with a commendation certificate from the Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee for winning the Men’s Team Gold Medal at the 3rd Asian Shuttlecock Championship in 2025.

Hue is famous for the Perfume River, Mount Ngu, the Citadel, royal tombs, pagodas, and noble residences, but Hue is also well known for its gardens. In Hue, gardens soften architecture, calm the everyday life, deepen poetry, and create a unique urban style: a garden city, a city of poetry, the harmony between man and nature, or “an urban poem” as said by M’Bow, former Director-General of UNESCO.

On the morning of May 25, the City Labor Federation held a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements with businesses and partner organizations to implement welfare programs for trade union members in 2026.

Compared to many other coastal localities, Hue’s sea possesses a distinctly unique beauty, gentle and captivating in its simplicity and softness. In recent years, that beauty has become even more alluring thanks to the new coastal road and the recently completed bridge spanning the Thuan An estuary. From there, visitors coming to Hue can begin their journey from the clear blue waters of Lang Co Bay, travel along breezy coastal roads through Vinh Thanh, Thuan An, and Hai Duong, before continuing toward the peaceful seaside area of Quang Dien.

On May 23, the city People’s Committee, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund in Vietnam, held a Conference to review the “Hue – Plastic-reduced city in Central Vietnam” Project (TVA Project) for the 2021–2026 period.

The “Imprints of Hue Buddhist Heritage” exhibition, part of a series of activities celebrating Vesak 2570 of the Buddhist calendar (2026 Gregorian calendar), officially opened on the afternoon of May 24 at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center (15A Le Loi Street, Thuan Hoa Ward).

A consultation workshop on finalizing policies to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was jointly organized on May 18th by the Agency for Private Enterprise and Collective Economy Development under the Ministry of Finance and the International Labor Organization.
