Thua Thien Hue boasts nearly 1,300 culinary dishes, ranging from royal delicacies to everyday local food. To preserve these characteristic Hue dishes and promote the local food culture both nationally and internationally, the implementation of 3D digitization is necessary.

Thai Hoa Palace, the symbol of imperial power of the Nguyen dynasty, set to be built by Emperor Gia Long in 1805, is currently being undergoing a restoration funded by nearly 130 billion Vietnamese dong from the state budget. The comprehensive conservation and restoration project of Thai Hoa Palace relic began in late 2021 and is scheduled for completion in 2025.

On the morning of November 11, in Hue City, the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue organized the opening ceremony of the program "Cherishing the Special Friendship Festival Vietnam - Laos 2023", on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Laos relationship (1962 - 2023) and 46 years since the two countries signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (1977 - 2023).

Thua Thien Hue has the most dishes honored in Phase I of the project, including Hue beef noodle soup, tapioca dumpling stuffed with roasted pork sweet soup, mussel rice, tapioca dumplings, vegetarian fig salad, and vegetarian steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaf.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - France diplomatic relations, Jean-Charles Sarrazin, an artist, conducted an instructive discussion on illustration and hands-on drawing session for students of Thuan Hoa High School at the French Institute in Hue, located at No.1 Le Hong Phong Street (Hue City).

Owning a diversified culinary background with various unique features, Thua Thien Hue has a potential to explore and develop culinary tourism. To reach effectiveness, instead of simple activities of visiting and enjoying food, the province has to pay much more attention to local-original culinary experiences.

“Thua Thien Hue needs a survey about all the Phu De currently left in the province in terms of their locations, values, ages, architecture, conditions, etc. The survey will become a database for researching”. (Phu are princes’ residences and De are princesses’ residences in the past).

Considered the first digital art space in Vietnam, Songlab (Ba Trieu Street, Hue City) is a place where art lovers can enjoy massive works that artists used technology for experiencing performance. In this space, people seem to be immersed in a colorful artistic world of modern technology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Acting Rector of the University of Education, Hue University (HUEdu), quoted well-known American actor Milton Berle when he commented on the long-lasting efforts of Dr. Tran Quang Hoa, who has just been awarded the French Academy of Sciences Tremplin prize for bilateral collaborations ASEAN.

On the evening of November 7th, the Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Association held a ceremony to announce and present certificates for the outstanding culinary dishes of Thua Thien Hue province in phase I – 2022, and launched the nomination voting for the second phase in 2023 of the “Journey to discover the typical cultural value of Vietnam’s cuisine”, and awarding membership certificates to the Culinary Culture Association of Thua Thien Hue.
