Joining hands to cultivate the soul of the nation’s literature and arts

The workshop is expected to produce numerous high-quality works and research projects

This year’s workshop attracts 66 participating artists and researchers, aiming to promote literary and artistic criticism while also creating a space for exchange and learning between generations of artists from various regions.

Kicking off the series of specialized activities is the “Achievements of Literature and Arts after 50 Years of National Reunification - One Unified Homeland” seminar, presented by Associate Professor, Dr. Do Hong Quan, Musician, offering profound insights into the development journey of Vietnamese literature and arts over the past half-century.

In the following days, the workshop will feature in-depth discussions and presentations from many prominent names in the field, such as: Major General and Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh; Bui Viet Thang, writer; Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, painter; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai; and People’s Artist Vuong Duy Bien, Painter, … These speakers will deliver presentations, research papers, and heartfelt viewpoints on the theory and criticism of literature and the arts.

In addition to the academic sessions, participants will also visit and experience several cultural and historical sites in Hue. This is an opportunity for artists to draw new inspiration and breathe life into their creative works and research.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh confirmed: “This workshop is not only a place to nurture creative inspiration, but also the one to contribute to spreading the unique cultural essence of Hue ancient capital. I believe the workshop will produce many valuable works and research projects that make meaningful contributions to the development of the nation’s literature and arts.”

The 8th Literature and Arts Criticism Writing Workshop runs until June 20^th in Hue City.
