On September 15th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, organized the 2026 Resident Doctors’ Day and welcomed 150 new resident doctors from 18 specialties for the 2026-2029 training program. These young doctors are beginning their journey of study, practice and research at the hospital.

Nestled deep within the Huong Dien Hydropower Reservoir area in Khe Trai (Huong Tra Ward, Hue City), the Tri-Thien-Hue Regional Party Committee’s tunnel complex was the headquarters of the Regional Party Committee and Hue City Party Committee. From this underground base, they directed all activities of the liberation forces before and after the 1968 Spring offensive. Today, the site stands as a striking historical relic amid a picturesque landscape of mountains, rivers, and sky.

With considerable room and momentum for development, Hue City has many advantages in pursuing a modern, green and sustainable industrial sector. However, for industry to become a true engine of growth and contribute to the city’s goal of double-digit economic expansion, a comprehensive set of coordinated solutions is needed.

At noon on September 13, Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority said that the cargo ship STARCITY had been successfully towed away from the area where it ran aground in Binh An waters, Chan May Bay, Hue City.

From the evening of September 12th through September 14th, Hue is expected to continue experiencing heavy to very heavy rain, with some areas forecast to receive more than 250mm. The prolonged rainfall has heightened the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and along the streams, while low-lying and urban areas face an increased threat of flooding.

On September 12th, the Organizing Committee of the 16th Hue City Technical Innovation Contest 2026 held a meeting of the Judging Council and organized specialized judging sessions for the entries registered for this year's contest.

With increasingly developed infrastructure, ample land available for development, and a clear focus on attracting high-quality investment, Hue City is opening up new opportunities to welcome both domestic and foreign investors.

More than three decades after UNESCO inscribed the Complex of Hue Monuments as a World Cultural Heritage Site (1993), nearly 200 structures and components have been restored, helping turn heritage into a resource for development in the new period.
