I have fully lived through those precious, unforgettable moments - moments where I could touch the echoing sound of waves that bear the names of the DK1 platform soldiers who now rest in the depths of the sea. It was to convey, in the most genuine way, the bravery and steadfastness of these soldiers who have become unshakable fortresses guarding the sea and sky of our homeland.

On the morning of June 4, Hue City Youth and Children Activity Center organized the “Youth and Children with the Homeland's Sea and Islands” Day in 2025.

On the morning of June 1st, in Vinh Thanh Commune (Phu Vang District), the People's Committee of Hue City, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and Military Region 4, organized a program in response to World Environment Day, Vietnam Sea and Island Week, and launched the “Summer Youth Volunteer” campaign, and the “Youth with the Homeland’s Seas and Islands” program 2025.

In Da Lay commune (Da Teh district, Lam Dong province), the new homeland of the people from Hue today, it is hard to recognize the traces of the hardships from nearly half a century ago. The most recognizable feature in this rural area that carries "Hue far away" is the distinctive Hue accent, the conical hats of the elderly women glistening as they shield their kind smiles, and the lively mornings with loc and nam cakes. We arrived at the Da Lay market in the Central Highlands and felt as if we were back in Hue, enjoying street food and chatting at a corner of Dong Ba or An Cuu markets…

More than a year after the initial land clearing and village-building efforts, a new homeland for settlers from Hue City gradually began to take shape in the southernmost reaches of Lam Dong province. Around 3,000 households with thousands of residents were starting to settle into their new lives.

After the country was reunified, the Pioneering Youth force transitioned to a new mission: overcoming the consequences of war and contributing to economic development. In response to the revolutionary call at that time, Binh Tri Thien Province and Hue City established two Pioneering Youth regiments tasked with surveying, building roads, clearing land, and constructing homes to welcome thousands of families from Hue to settle in the southern regions and establish new Hue communities far from home. Among the many resettlement programs, one new homeland for Hue people was founded nearly half a century ago: the Huong Lam New Economic Zone (NEZ), now part of Da Lay Commune, Da Huai District, in the southern part of Lam Dong Province…

After concluding Stage 9 of Truong Tien - Phu Xuan, the 37th National Cycling Tournament for Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup, themed “United Homeland”, kicked off Stage 10 on the morning of April 13th, starting from Hue City to Da Nang City. This year, the starting point was held at Phu Van Lau (Le Duan Street), instead of the usual location at Hue City Center for Culture and Cinema.

Stage 9 from Truong Tien to Phu Xuan, part of the “United Homeland” cycling race for the 37th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2025, kicked off on the morning of April 12 at Tu Tuong Park (Le Loi Street), following the award ceremony for athletes with top results in Stage 8 from Quang Binh to Hue City.

To celebrate the 94th anniversary of founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Hue City, and many other significant events of the homeland, the People's Committees of Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa districts have issued plan No. 959 to organize the first traditional boat race in 2025.

Thanks to technology, many delicious dishes from Hue have transcended the borders of their homeland. The unique flavors of the ancient capital are now finding their way to the East and the West, driven by the rise of e-commerce and the entrepreneurial spirit.
