A friend of mine just came from the Southeastern region to visit Hue. After a day visiting various destinations, from the Imperial Citadel to the tombs of Emperors Gia Long and Minh Mang, then heading to the Van Thanh - Vo Thanh temples and Thien Mu Pagoda, my friend warmly remarked: “In Hue, wherever you go, you can see the Huong River. Now I understand why people here are so gentle and friendly. In this scene, by this river, it’s hard even to get upset!”.

Aiming to create a clean, friendly tourism environment for the health of the community, efforts to prevent and control the harmful effects of tobacco at accommodation facilities, hotels, and resorts in Hue City have recently been strengthened and effectively implemented. Many hotels not only strictly comply with legal regulations but have also creatively developed smoke-free models in alignment with green and sustainable tourism development.

On July 22nd, at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, the Union of Friendship Organizations, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, held a ceremony to present bicycles to students facing difficult circumstances in the area.

At the specialized session on “Green and Sustainable Tourism Development” held on the morning of June 6th within the framework of the 14th East Asian Local Government and Regional Conference, Hue affirmed its pioneering position in the region regarding the development orientation of environmentally-friendly tourism that harmonizes with communities and preserves heritage.

Let’s Hue - Local Buddies is a project founded by foreign language-loving students from member universities of Hue University. Its goal is to introduce and promote the cultural image of Hue Ancient Capital to international friends.

The academic exchange activities between the Faculty of Environment, University of Sciences, Hue University, and international students have created many meaningful experiences, spreading the spirit of sustainable development and cultural connection.

On April 15th, Zhi Shan Foundation, in coordination with the Center for Social Work and Child Protection Fund, and Thuan Hoa District Department of Education and Training, held the inauguration ceremony of a friendly library at Thuy Van Primary School and presented classroom book cabinets to three schools: Duong No Primary School, Phu Thanh Secondary School, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School.

Overcoming many stereotypes, Do Ky Minh Hien, a Gen Z young man from Hue, and his like-minded friends have built a community dedicated to snake identification and first aid for snakebites in Vietnam.

On November 11th, Hue Tourism College collaborated with Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Thua Thien Hue Province to host a seminar and exchange event featuring Vietnamese - Japanese traditional New Year culinary culture.

During the days of changing seasons to autumn, students from the land of cherry blossoms had the opportunity to set foot in Hue. Here, they had interesting cultural experiences in the ancient capital with Vietnamese friends.
