October 11 is recognized by the United Nations as the International Day of the Girl Child, a day to honor the value and affirm the role of girls in families and society, while calling on communities to act for the safety, equality, and holistic development of girls worldwide. In Hue City, the health sector has organized many practical activities to help raise awareness and enhance the status of girls in modern life.

Having professional skills and a stable job is the dream of many young people from disadvantaged families. Through free vocational training courses linked to market needs, REACH Hue Center has accompanied them from vocational classes to the doorway of employment.

By the end of July 2025, Hue City no longer has any dilapidated, ramshackle houses. In their place now, stand new, solid houses - turning many families’ dream of stable housing into reality.

Phuoc Tich is an ancient village located in Phong Hoa Ward, Phong Dien Town, Hue City. The village was established in 1470. Though small, Phuoc Tich boasts 12 river wharfs, symbolizing the 12 founding families who first settled the land. Along with the founding of the village, migrants from Đàng Ngoài (Outer Realm) who came to this land to make a living also brought with them the traditional craft of pottery.

In response to the revolutionary call at that time, Binh Tri Thien Province and Hue City established two Pioneering Youth regiments tasked with surveying, building roads, clearing land, and constructing homes to welcome thousands of families from Hue to settle in the southern regions and establish new Hue communities far from home. Among the many resettlement programs, one new homeland for Hue people was founded nearly half a century ago: the Huong Lam New Economic Zone (NEZ), now part of Da Lay Commune, Da Huai District, in the southern part of Lam Dong Province…

Amid the bustling rhythm of urban life, I love taking a long pause to enjoy the slow and steady pedaling of Hue’s cyclo drivers. There, although I deeply sympathize with the hard work of these men, who are the breadwinners of their families, in turn, it also reminds me of the strangely peaceful feeling of Hue.
