Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon system in Hue City is the largest brackish water ecosystem in Southeast Asia, stretching 68 km, covering a total water surface area of approximately 216 km2. The area is renowned for its poetic sunsets, rich biodiversity, and serves as a popular destination for eco-tourism, photography, and enjoying local seafood specialties.

As Hue undergoes a strong transformation toward a sustainable heritage - culture - tourism urban model, developing the night-time economy has become a practical necessity. The question, then, is how Hue should approach the night-time economy in a way that is both effective and civilized, while still preserving the “essence” of an Ancient Capital.

The synchronous investment in infrastructure across economic and industrial zones is opening a new development space for Hue, while also enhancing its capacity to attract large-scale projects, and creating a ripple effect for the growth of supporting industries, logistics services, and import-export activities.

On the afternoon of March 18, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to review the city’s economic growth performance, along with growth scenarios for the first quarter and the whole of 2026. On the afternoon of March 10, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, chaired a meeting with relevant departments, sectors, and units to review reports and provide feedback on night-time economic development projects in the area.

On the morning of March 1, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam, a full-time member of the Economic and Financial Committee of the 15th National Assembly, visited and presented 100 gift packages to poor households and those in difficult circumstances in Phong Phu Ward.

With the finalization of the North-South high-speed railway, Hue’s transportation network will encompass five principal modes: road, rail, inland waterways, aviation, and maritime transport, paving the way for the city’s breakthrough development.

On the morning of February 24, the City Labor Federation announced that more than 98% of workers have returned to work following the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 holiday. Specifically, in economic zones and industrial parks, this rate reached 99%.
