The elegance of Hue’s lotus

For over twenty years, artist Tran Huu Nhat has quietly traveled through rivers, temples, the citadel in Hue in his journey of recreating sketches of Than Kinh Nhi Thap Canh _ the twenty beautiful landscapes of Hue mentioned in historical records of the Nguyen Dynasty.

On the evening of June 19, at Tinh Tam Lake, the Department of Tourism hosted “Thuc Thuy Show,” an art and culinary performance that serves as one of the highlights of the 2026 Hue Lotus Festival, taking place from June 19 to 21.

Over the past three weeks, at dawn, small tea mats have appeared by Tinh Tam(Serenity)Lake. Despite enjoying the tea for only two hours, the period of immersing oneself in the lotus fragrance and calmly receiving the essence of heaven and earth leaves an unforgettable impression on guests.

The medium of watercolor may appear delicate, yet in the hands of skilled painters, it becomes a powerful means of expression. At the exhibition “There Is… a River”, visitors can experience both the talent of the painters and the distinctive allure of a medium known for its transparency, lightness, and poetic charm.

Marking the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), Hue plans to present gifts from the State President to over 24,000 people with meritorious service and their families, with total funding reaching nearly VND 7.4 billion.
