On January 21, the Youth Union of the Provincial Center for Disease Control organized a volunteer activity themed "Warm Spring 2024" for children at six children protection centers in the area of Hue City.

At the Award Ceremony of "L'ORÉAL - UNESCO For the Development of Women in Science" in 2023, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Ai Nhung made an impression with her “typical Hue” image upon giving a presentation on the research topic relevant to the potential and application of endemic medicinal plants in Thua Thien Hue Province in supporting disease treatment for public health care. She was among three female scientists honored by L'ORÉAL - UNESCO in 2023.

Plastic waste is not biodegradable, which can only break into small pieces and float everywhere. With the exposure to sunlight, it may take many centuries to decompose. Those very familiar everyday small objects such as straws and bottle caps could take from 100 to 500 years to decompose; while it takes from 500 to 1,000 years for the flimsy plastic bags, and from 50 to 200 years for convenient foam cups to decompose, etc. Our environment and health are extremely negatively affected by plastic waste. It directly impacts soil, water, and air, which also creates favorable conditions for many disease-causing bacteria.

On the morning of August 5, a free congenital heart disease screening program for children in difficult circumstances was held at Hue Central Hospital. The program was organized by Viettel Thua Thien Hue in collaboration with the Vietnam Heart Fund of Vietnam Television and Hue Central Hospital.

On June 26, Prof. Michelle Hermiston from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF, USA) visited and collaborated with Hue Central Hospital to organize a training course on “Hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation in cancer, benign blood diseases and congenital immunodeficiency”.
