For the first time escaping the label of a poor district, the people of A Luoi joyfully participate in festival activities, embracing solidarity and sharing. Along with preserving cultural values, the local authorities are striving to reduce the number of impoverished households, develop livelihood models, and improve residents' quality of life.

It may seem easy to dream of a day when Gia Hoi “revives,” not only preserving its essence and cultural heritage values, but also seizing the opportunity for this ancient quarter to develop. The preservation of heritage values in this ancient quarter located east of the Hue Citadel, however, is facing many challenges and conflicts.

Although it has been officially operational for less than six months, the Provincial Trade and Investment Promotion, and Business Support Center (now under Hue centrally-governed municipality), with predetermined functions and missions, has made significant contributions to supporting businesses in trade promotion and resolving various challenges and obstacles.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long recently signed a decision approving the plan to implement the healthcare network development strategy for the 2021- 2030 period, prioritizing the development of six hospitals to meet international standards, including Hue Central Hospital (HCH). Gia Hoi old quarter, located to the east outside the Citadel, was once the most bustling area in Hue Imperial Capital in the early 19th century. Today, this town, part of Gia Hoi ward (Phu Xuan district), is facing urbanization and the challenge of balancing between preservation and development. So, how will Gia Hoi develop and progress?
