In accordance with Co-financing Agreement No. VIE039 25 3535, LuxDev and Musa Pacta Joint Stock Company have implemented activities to build a sustainable banana value chain aimed at empowering farmers through a circular economy model and climate change-responsive innovation in Hue City. At the workshop, delegates also visited the banana cultivation model in Hung Loc Commune; the banana value chain model at Musa Farm in Huong Tra; experienced the banana fiber harvesting process; and created handicraft products from banana fiber.
At the workshop, representatives of Musa Pacta Joint Stock Company introduced the circular-oriented banana cultivation and production model in Hue, assessed initial results, and presented development plans. The company has coordinated with local authorities to survey land areas and organize community meetings to develop growing areas and commercial banana production. Currently, the company is developing a banana cultivation area of 20,7 hectares, of which 10,7 hectares are supported by the LuxDev project. The company is also constructing processing facilities to produce fresh bananas, green banana flour, soft-dried bananas, banana fiber, and organic bio-fertilizer derived from banana plants.

At present, Hue City is receiving Luxembourg support to implement two projects with a total grant value of approximately 12 million USD. Of these, Project VIE/039 focuses on promoting climate smart-agriculture, enhancing access to finance for farming households and small businesses, particularly women and vulnerable groups, while Project VIE/301 aims to replicate effective models from Project VIE/039. The projects also implement innovative solutions in natural resource management, coastal area development, and ecological environmental protection, thereby contributing to enhanced climate change resilience in vulnerable areas.
