In the days leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the children in my neighborhood have been joyfully practicing. Calling it a “unicorn dance troupe” sounds grand, but in fact, it’s just about a dozen kids from grades 1 to 7. One contributes an old drum, another brings a unicorn head or a Mr. Earth mask, while some dig through closets for their mothers’ Ao dai, … all gathered together to form an eager, lively team of little unicorn dancers.

On October 2, a team of doctors and medical staff from Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital organized a Community Dentistry program at Hue City Center for Social Work and Child Protection Fund. This initiative was part of the 2025 community oral disease prevention plan implemented by the Hue City Department of Health.

The Co Tu people in hamlet 5, Nam Dong commune (merged from Huong Xuan, Thuong Nhat and Huong Son communes) still call Village Elder Tran Dinh Lua (72 years old) the “living treasure” of their village. To this day, he is one of the few remaining people who preserve the sacred sound of the gong that has been intertwined with generations of the Co Tu people.

On October 1, Green Lotus Fund, the Youth Union of Hue Newspaper and Radio - Television, in coordination with Thua Thien Hue Construction Joint Stock Company, Hue City Social Policy Bank, Hue Export Garment Joint Stock Company, and Le Domaine De Cocodo Hotel, organized the “Mid-Autumn Festival for Children” program at Hong Thuy Primary and Secondary School (A Luoi 1 Commune).

On the morning of September 29, Hue Central Hospital held the opening ceremony of the 20th Vietnam-Australia Hand Surgery Training Course, designed for surgeons, surgical residents specializing in General Surgery, postgraduate students, as well as doctors and rehabilitation technicians all over the country.

With special scale, character, and significance, the series of activities under “Vietnam - Republic of Korea Cultural Day 2025” held in Hue on September 27 - 28 attracted a great number of locals, domestic and international tourists, as well as international friends.

On September 26th - 27th, the 2025 National Scientific Conference on Anesthesiology and Resuscitation (A&R) took place in Hue City, co-organized by Vietnam Society of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Hue City Department of Health, Hue Central Hospital, and the Hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The event brought together more than 1.000 doctors, specialists, scientists, postgraduate students from Vietnam and abroad, along with representatives of healthcare enterprises.

On the morning of September 27, 2025 Hue City Age-Group Swimming Championship opened at the City Sports Center swimming pool (No. 2 Le Quy Don Street). The event is co-organized by the Department of Culture & Sports and the City Youth Union.

On September 25th, at Dong Son Primary School (A Luoi 4 Commune) a ceremony was held for the handover of renovated facilities, sponsored by Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB).

The recent export of 18 tons of Hue specialty cakes (including nam cakes (flat rice flour cakes with shrimp topping), loc cakes (tapioca dumplings), and it cakes (glutinous flour round cakes)) to the USA by Hue One Food and Kinh Do Specialty Joint Stock Company, Thuan An, holds significant meaning, acting as a special cultural ambassador of Hue to the world, with the value of cassava plant.
