Amid moss-covered rooftops and the quiet waters of the Huong River, or wandering up Thien An Hill, Vong Canh Hill, and into the tombs of the Nguyen emperors… a young woman with the nickname Hoang Trinh Phan has made a significant presence across social media platforms, sharing stories about heritage. Her “heritage storytelling” page has attracted thousands of viewers and followers, not only for her charm but also for the wealth of essential knowledge about cultural heritage that she brings to the public and the community.

Together with the Huong River - Ngu Mountain, the conical hat and the purple ao dai of Hue Women are also a symbolic cultural combo that is deeply connected with the locals in the Ancient Capital. And the poet Bui Giang once “fell in love”: The poetic conical hat / Taking you to Hue City / Sunshine pierces the rim / Revealing the soul of homeland in poetry… (Taking you to the city).

Hue is taking steps to build a model of sustainable development, where the economic growth does not come at the expense of the cultural identity. In the modern life the city still maintains its soul, considering the green fund the foundation for a future of harmony and distinction.

On September 27-28, 2025, in the area of 23 - 25 Le Loi and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street by the Ironwood Bridge on the Huong River, Hue City People’s Committee will collaborate with the Embassy of South Korea in Vietnam to organize the “Vietnam - South Korea Cultural Day 2025”.

Unable to rely solely on love for the craft or pride in the past, Hue’s craft villages must step beyond traditional pathways toward a new journey: Transforming production thinking, applying technology, embracing green transition, elevating quality, and telling cultural stories in more modern ways.

A kite originating from Hue, which has been preserved for nearly 60 years in a museum in the United States, was discovered by a Vietnamese restoration expert. Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.

For centuries, the land of Hue has been renowned for the skillful hands of its artisans. This region is a place not only preserves the cultural heritage of the imperial court, but also serves as the cradle that maintains and develops hundreds of unique traditional craft villages. However, in the face of global integration trends, Hue’s craft villages are confronting numerous challenges.

On the evening of September 1st, in Vy Da Ward, Hue City People’s Committee held the inauguration ceremony for the technical infrastructure component of the Hue City Cultural and Sports Square project.

On the late afternoon of August 28, at Ly Tu Trong Park (Thuan Hoa Ward), Hue City People's Committee, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), held the inauguration ceremony for the Smart street component of the “Developing Hue into a smart cultural and tourism city” project.

Organizing STEAM educational experiences for students; a warm art night dedicated to mothers; a journey carrying books to a remote village; and a discussion with young people about French architecture, etc., these activities gave August a warm start at Hue Book and Culture Space - a cultural meeting place that, despite being new, has become a cherished part of Hue.
