Taking place daily from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the festival will be held along the pedestrian street stretching from Bao Vinh Bridge to Dia Linh Culvert, featuring experiential, artistic, and folk cultural activities.

One of the highlights of the festival is the “Heritage Passport” space, which includes five experiential stations set up at the eaves of ancient houses and in Bao Vinh Ot Hamlet. Here, children will have the opportunity to make kites, pinwheels, traditional fans, floating lanterns; as well as painting figurines, drawing, and making traditional folk cakes.

Notably, the “I am a Tour Guide” contest, for children aged 6 to 15, not only creates a skills-based playground, but also encourages them to approach heritage from a child’s perspective. Contestants will produce videos introducing Bao Vinh Ancient Town, Hoa Chau citadel, Ru Cha in Huong Phong, Bao Vinh forging village, or local culture and cuisine before advancing to the final round, held during the festival.

Mr. Vo Viet Duc, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoa Chau Ward, said the festival is not only a cultural event for children, but also an opportunity for the community to join hands in preserving the values of Bao Vinh Ancient Town.

The “Childhood Memories in the Heart of the Ancient Town” Festival is designed to preserve the rustic charm of the ancient Bao Vinh. From childhood snack stalls and items made of bamboo, paper, and banana leaves to experiential activities held inside the traditional ruong houses, every element aims to tell the story of heritage preservation while encouraging local residents to become active participants in the festival space.

By combining culture, heritage, community tourism, and activities for children, “Childhood Memories in the Heart of the Ancient Town” is expected to create a more vibrant atmosphere for the night-time economy, while gradually building the brand of Bao Vinh Ancient Town as a destination embodying “Living Heritage - Green Economy - Civilization and Compassion” of Hue City.
