Hue City Department of Tourism has just presented a new function called “Tourism Narration” into the Visit Hue application. This digital technology solution offers tourists an easier way to explore and listen to stories about Hue Ancient Capital’s heritage.

After nearly two-thirds of the journey of the National Tourism Year (NTY) - Hue 2025, Hue’s tourism industry has recorded many positive results. Speaking with Hue Today Weekly, Director of Hue Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that the NTY has not only brought strong growth in visitor numbers but also created a ripple effect in destination branding and in positioning the tourism identity of the Ancient Capital among businesses and tourists.

It was a stroll through images and fond memories of Quoc Tu Giam (Imperial Academy) - a relic of the Nguyen Dynasty nestled in the heart of Hue Ancient Capital. The site is expected to undergo restoration this November, with a total investment of over 108 billion VND.

With a conical hat painted with a Ly Dynasty dragon motif rich in Hue’s identity, K-pop star G-Dragon surprised fans when he appeared at Noi Bai Airport. That very hat was a creation of Maries Co., Ltd., founded and led by CEO Ho Thi Suong Lan, a businesswoman from Hue.

On the morning of October 5, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh inspected the preparations for Viettel Y-Fest 2025 event at Ngo Mon Square. The event is organized by Viettel Telecom (Viettel Telecommunications Corporation) under the theme “SYNC OF HEART - Harmonizing Empathy.”

Not only reaching the strong growth in visitor numbers, but the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 has also created a ripple effect in promoting the destination’s image and positioning the Ancient Capital’s tourism brand name among businesses and visitors. This is the core information announced by Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of Hue City’s Department of Tourism in the article titled Positive Effects from the National Tourism Year, featured in the “Meeting” column by author Huu Phuc.

Together with the Huong River - Ngu Mountain, the conical hat and the purple ao dai of Hue Women are also a symbolic cultural combo that is deeply connected with the locals in the Ancient Capital. And the poet Bui Giang once “fell in love”: The poetic conical hat / Taking you to Hue City / Sunshine pierces the rim / Revealing the soul of homeland in poetry… (Taking you to the city).

A kite originating from Hue, which has been preserved for nearly 60 years in a museum in the United States, was discovered by a Vietnamese restoration expert. Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.

On the afternoon of August 30th, in Hue City, Vietnam Haiku Poetry Club - Ancient Capital Hue branch held a gathering featuring poetry and music to mark the 80th National Day anniversary.

Alongside preservation of palaces and temples, the heritage conservation efforts in the Ancient Capital also include the care, restoration, and propagation of trees, protecting ancient and precious species within relic sites, helping maintain the harmonious beauty of architecture and nature - a hallmark of Hue’s heritage space.
