In Bao Vinh Old Town, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Phung still carefully holds her brush each day to paint on glass, just as her family has done for generations. As most of the artisans from the old days have nearly disappeared, the hands of this woman in her fifties have become a place where a craft once closely associated with the royal art of Hue is being preserved.

On the morning of March 8, the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Hue Central Hospital coordinated with the Youth Union of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, and the Living Blood Bank Club of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy to organize a voluntary blood donation program.

On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, on the morning of February 27, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, visited and congratulated the leaders, staff, and medical teams at several medical facilities in the area.

On the morning of February 25th, the Trade Union and Youth Union of Hue Central Hospital, in coordination with the hospital’s Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, organized the “White Blouse - Red Heart” voluntary blood donation program, attracting nearly 400 officials, public employees, doctors, and medical staff.

The excited chatter of children in the corner of the house does not make Mrs Ton Nu Minh Trang miss a beat as she gently shakes the tray of cakes. She smiles knowingly: “They’ll break everything if they rush around! Making phuc linh cakes can’t be hurried or done carelessly!”

On February 24, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Quang Dien Commune, in coordination with the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Hue Central Hospital, organized the 2026 Xuan Hong (Spring of Red) Festival with the theme “Donate a drop of blood - Give life a chance”.

Ask the people of Hue what flower they love most, and most will likely answer: the apricot blossom. To put it more formally, “hoang mai” - yellow apricot, without a doubt. Don’t believe it? Come to Hue and see for yourself! There’s a whole movement called “Yellow apricot blossom in front of the entrance”; a completed research project on “Conservation and development of Hue’s yellow apricot variety (Hue’s Hoang mai)”; a scientific conference on developing Hue’s Hoang mai into a key local product, aimed at successfully realizing the project to build Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) into Vietnam’s yellow apricot homeland. My friend, journalist Minh Tu, even published a book called “In front of the house stands a yellow apricot tree”, which sold out instantly, was reprinted, and translated into foreign languages to great acclaim.

On February 12th, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization of Phong Thai Ward, in coordination with the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center - Hue Central Hospital, organized the 2026 Xuan Hong Blood Donation Festival under the theme “A Drop of Blood - A Gift of Life”.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse, when streets are awash in the golden hues of apricot blossoms, young people once again eagerly enter the season of photo hunting. From the Imperial Citadel, ancient pagodas, and Dong Ba Market to cafes decorated in spring colors, every street corner and every space become a backdrop for capturing beautiful moments. Tet photos not only mark the transition between the old year and the new, but also reflect the vibrant, youthful rhythm of life in the heart of the Ancient Capital.

From her journey to revive the craft of making dó (poonah) paper in the raw material area in the North, Ms. Tran Hong Nhung, the founder of Zó Project, has brought the story of dó paper and beeswax to Hue through hands-on experiences. Here, the craftsmanship techniques of the Dao Tien people are introduced and tested for integration into contemporary life.
